"I'm sure he would," Cass replied. "Forces know he loves meeting new people, and if you tell them it's important at the door, I doubt you'd be waiting long. It's just a matter of where you'd be more comfortable, really. He's a bard in one of the larger estates in Skyheort. Not nobility, but not far below it."

[Northen Light36]

Flame considered her options. Going to him might be faster, but not if she got lost. How could anyone navigate this twisting crowded maze was beyond her. And it also meant returning out to the crowds and the bitter cold. "I think I'd prefer to stay here," she replied. "If it'd be possible to find a spot to speak to Uriel in private?"

[Darastrix]

"Oh, of course," Cass said with a wave of her hand. "You can hole up in one of our practice rooms and I'll send a runner for Uriel. He'll probably beat the runner back, honestly."

Flame smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Maestra," she replied politely, then glanced at Harmony. "I should be all right if there's somewhere else you want to go, Harmony."

[Kender Bard]

Harmony shook her head. "I can wait for Libre to get back. He shouldn't take too long."

And indeed, he didn't. Libre teleported back to Talen'sul, consulted briefly with Harmony, and then simply teleported straight to Flame. He was carrying a heavier pack and had Timble with him at this time. "Flame," he greeted, kissing his sister's cheek. "Sorry I took so long."

Harmony and Timble, meanwhile, were eyeing one another over before apparently deciding that they liked what each one saw. Moving to another corner of the room, the two struck up an introduction together.

Flame smiled and hugged her brother. "You didn't take too long," she assured him, taking his hand. "We're waiting for the bard we've been looking for to arrive. She looked hopefully up at Libre. "You got my things too, right?" She knew she had a heavy weight, fur lined cloak and matching vest among her things that would be useful when they had to leave.

It wasn't terribly long after that a young-looking man with a mess of white hair breezed into the guild, looking around curiously. "Gotta message someone was looking for me," he announced to the room at large. "Whatever it was, I didn't do it!"

Flame giggled, despite her nerves. "Hello, I guess you're Uriel? I'm Flame..." She took a deep breath and said bluntly, "This is probably going to sound slightly crazy, but please hear me out. I'm a seer from clan Fira in Naurorod and I was sent a vision from Soahc that involves you."

[Darastrix]

“Anything involving Soahc is a little crazy by default,” Uriel responded. “But since one of my friends’ lovers gets tapped with visions from Etaf sometimes, it doesn’t sound as crazy to me as you might think. Except for the part where Soahc has something to do with me.” He shrugged and leaned against the wall. “I’m not really a follower.”

He’d always considered himself Efilian, though he would admit that sometimes his laid-back attitude toward life in general sometimes put him at odds with the more straight-laced priests. And that he’d made a few friends in Soahc’s priesthood. Really, he didn’t put much thought into religion; he followed his Mistress and that was good enough for him.

"The crazy part's what's coming," Flame replied dryly. She had a feeling she'd get sick of telling this story before long, but she spilled out her tale of the demons and the vision and her quest. "This ring is yours," she finished, holding it out to the bard.

[Darastrix]

"You were right," Uriel agreed. "That does sound crazy. But the friend I mentioned? His kid is staying with another of our friends because he's gone off with his lover while she delivers some rings to a few folks, too, so...."

He took the ring from Flame and slipped it on, admiring the band as it turned wine red, like Mat's, but without the accents of copper. "Holy.... Do they all do that?"

[Kender Bard]

Libre leaned forward to see. "The last one had some traces of copper in it. I think they might be different for each ring bearer."

He tilted his head as he considered what Uriel said and nudged Flame. "Sounds like you're not the only messenger, either. I wonder how many there are."

[Northen Light36]

Flame shrugged but looked thoughtful. "I wonder if all the forces are sending out messengers?" she murmured. "It'd make sense if Soahc wasn't the only one concerned and wanting to do something about what's happening."

[Darastrix]

"Sooo...is that it?" Uriel asked, looking between Flame and Libre. "Get ring, wear ring, wait for something to happen? Nothing else I need to do?" If this was being a Force's chosen, it was disappointingly dull.

[Kender Bard]

"As far as we know," Libre confirmed. "Soahc implied that the rings were so he could reach you quickly farther down the line. There's several others; so I guess he needed something that would allow him to reach all of his chosen simultaneously. Unfortunately, I have no idea when that someday will be or what it will entail. So I suggest you keep the ring on as much as you can."
