Conleth cried out in pain, instintively kicking the snake away. When Amaro stepped forward to help him, Conleth warned, "Careful, there's snakes." He made his way out of the grass, far more carefully then he'd gone into it, though every step burned like fire. Once back into the relative safety of the rest of the group, he fell to his knees.
"Acqua, can you heal-"
Acqua cut Amaro off with a shake of her head. "I'm out of healing water," she replied grimly. "Until I can get some sleep, I'll be useless for healing."
Conleth closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He could feel the strength of the poison and knew that without treatment he wouldn't last out the night. "Go pick up that branch over there, carefully since we don't know what else is on this island, and sharpen one end to a point."
Puzzled, Acqua did as she was told and gave Conleth the makeshift spear.
"Now, go. Get out of here, you three." He gave them a resigned sigh. "I'm not going to make it to morning, so there's no point in my slowing you down. Get going and do your best to get out of here." He looked up at Amaro and added softly, "If... When you get out of here, please... I'm from Clan Char. Please, find my clan and tell them what happened to me."
Amaro nodded. "I will. You have my word." He hesitated a second longer, then led Acqua and Ralph away to seak out a defensable place to spend the night.
Conleth watched them go, then sat with his back against a tree and hoped the hunter would find him before the poison killed him. He'd like to spend the last moments of his life doing damage to that man.
Phyllis nodded and began climbing the tree, slowly and carefully. She really didn't want to risk falling and breaking something while they were trapped her. When she thought she'd be able to get it. she reached out for the bag.
