Trouble on the Sands|Clan Char, Naurorod

Arash had been enjoying his time at the clan so far, though it wasn't particularly easy. Pitching in where he could and learning of the skills and ways of the clan. He was enjoying an idle moment, watching the horses in their coral, as he'd taken to doing when he had idle time. Though they were coming slowly, he was enjoying his riding lessons, after the first problem of finding a horse tall enough for him, not many were. He was still a touch clumsy on horseback, but he felt proud of what he'd learned nonetheless, and enjoyed just watching the animals.

[Devon]

Ryuk came bounding into the area quickly, spotting his usual horse he whistled and the mare snorted and trotted to meet him. Leaping, Ryuk managed to land on his horse. He was about to take off when he spotted Arash. "Hey new guy, grab a horse and follow me!" he shouted

Arash jumps a bit and stares at Ryuk for a short moment before deciding that he seemed in enough of a rush that it must be important. He hops the coral fence and quickly finds the horse he'd been learning on, she was much less likely to try and disobey him when it came down to it. "What's wrong?" He calls out to Ryuk as he leads the mare out of the coral and he closes it behind him before mounting up.

[Devon]

Ryuk slowed his horse to wait for Arash to catch up. "Would you be mad if I just wanted to see how quickly you'd respond?" Ryuk asked with a grin. "I'm only kidding, there is some real trouble though. Something about a loose herd and fire, I don't know I just move when good Ol' Charanth says so or Allura or Ol' Charminei..or her daughter..."

Arash nearly says something when Ryuk mentions it being a joke, but shuts his mouth when the man continues. He was having a bit of trouble getting balanced on the mare so quickly and didn't need to worry about other things on top of that. "Well let's go then!"

[Devon]

"I was waiting on you, you don't look too steady on a horse, but try and keep up," he told Arash. Kicking his horse a light nudge and a click of his teeth as a verbal sign, Ryuk and his mare took off towards the loose herd. "You should feel honored," Ryuk shouted back to Arash.

Arash nudges the mare, who is all too happy to follow Ryuk's horse. Once he's managed to catch up, he shouts back, "Why's that? We're heading to an emergency."

[Devon]

"Because you get to work with me," Ryuk said as if it were a matter of fact. "And if you haven't seen one yet, you're gonna get to see a Zezir. I was told that little bugger is what spooked the herd we're looking for."

Arash hadn't had time to meet everyone in the clam yet, and Ryuk was one of them, but there was no time now to ask just why it was an honour to work with him. The zezir, however, he had heard of. "I haven't seen one yet, no. How big do they get, and do they usually travel alone?" He wanted to be ready if there might be more than just one.

[Devon]

"It depends from what I've seen," Ryuk answered. Sometimes they travel alone, sometimes they group up. They aren't too challenging when they group up..they are easily distracted and might turn on each other for the kill. Just be faster than the person you're running away with."

Arash gives Ryuk a bit of an odd look, not quite sure if his last comment was completely in jest or not. Either way, he turns his concentration to his riding, hoping that they would get there sooner than later.
