Flame glanced around quietly as she groomed her pony. Her mother, cousin and sister were nowhere in sight, good. Pausing in caring for her mount, Flame walked over to one of the other nearby scouts.

"Lalita, you're going to Fira-Forian tonight, right?" she asked, trying to sound casual rather then nervous. "Want some company on the trip?"

Lalita grins a greeting at the younger girl, "I don't see why not. Someone you want to visit?"

"Yeah," Flame agreed with a grin. "I haven't seen my aunt and my cousin for ages. And Ann and Aly are there too, so clearly that's where most of the fun is at the moment, right? After spending a month in Sensatia with Daddy, I really, really need some fun."

Lalita chuckles, "You're probably right about it being more interesting there for now. Maybe you can tell me a bit about Sensatia during the tip," she smirks, half teasing.

"Sure," Flame agreed easily. "And you can tell me everything I've missed while I was in Sensatia. I'll go get my stuff and get Moonshine ready for the trip. I'll meet you at the edge of the clan after dinner, okay?"

That evening, Flame met up with Lalita and the other scouts who were traveling to the other half of the clan. She'd left a note under her mother's pillow saying where she'd gone, but hoped it would be awhile before it was found. "Ready to go?" she asked. "I am."

Secret stuck her head out of Flame's pack and glanced around, before curling back up for a nap.

"Just about," Lalita was just checking a few things in her bags and getting mounted up. She catches a glimpse of Secret and grins, "I wouldn't mind a pet myself, cute little thing."

It wasn't long before the group sets out and Lalita takes up a spot beside Flame, filing her in on the goings on of the clan since she's been away.

Flame returned the favour by telling Lalita all about Sensatia. She also made herself useful on the trip as well. When the group made camp for the night at around midnight, she quickly set about doing the type of camp chores that traditionally fell to the youngest, least experienced member of a scouting party without any concern for the fact she technically outranked all her companions. By the time she crawled into her bedroll, she was too tired to pay any attention of the mental voice that called to her. "This is fun," she told Lalita sleepily.

Back in the clan, Tres frowned worriedly when Aideen shook her head and told her, "If Flame can hear me, she's not answering. Do you want me to see if she's with Uncle Thelon?"

"Please," Tres replied with a nod.

Aideen focused, reaching out to her uncle. ~Uncle Thelon, I'm sorry to disturb you this late, but is Flame with you? We're having a bit of trouble finding her.~

[Kender Bard]

~No~ Thelon replied. His mind-voice was puzzled but in moments it had switched to a deep worry. ~Why would she be here? Why isn't she in the clan?~

Lalita had noted Flame's pitching in approvingly, good kid.

In her own bedroll the older girl yawns, "It is, I love the open desert."

~I'm not sure, but no one in the clan has seen her since dinner time and both the pack she usually takes to Sensatia and her cat are missing from her room. Aunt Tres and I were hoping she'd just gone to see you and Libre again,~ Aideen replied, trying to keep her own worry out of her mind-voice. ~Can you ask Libre if she mentioned wanting to go somewhere or something? Those two are usually as thick as thieves, aren't they?~

Flame grinned and rolled onto her back to look up at the stars. "I hardly ever get to camp like this. I'm glad I'm a scout, I'll get to do this all the time when I'm older." She ignored the thought that she wouldn't get too long to be a scout before it was time to start taking up her duties as an elder. There'd be no time for long camping trips then. So I'll just enjoy this while it lasts, she thought firmly. "I've missed the desert. Sensatia always feels... damp and closed in. I don't think I like cities much. Too many walls."

~I'll ask~ Thelon answered.

Libre cut in, then, joining the conversation as soon as his father had appraised him of the situation. ~Flame always wants to go somewhere. She's got wanderlust bad, you know that. You mean to tell me she just took off from the clan?~

Lalita decides against bringing up the same issue that Flame is thinking, "Well, I suppose it's good to at least see one." She makes a face and chuckles, "Though from how you make them sound I'm not interested."

~It's starting to look like that,~ Aideen replied worriedly, extending her abilities to bring Tres into the conversation.

Well she can't have gotten too far, Tres thought, but she sounded worried. She's not answering Aideen though. Libre, did Flame mention anywhere in particular she wanted to go? It would help if we had a direction to start searching in.

"Oh, I'm sure some of them are nice," Flame replied. "And Sensatia does have some really nice things in it. But I still don't think cities are anywhere near as nice as the clans are." She yawned again, her eyes closing even as she struggled to stay awake.

~No, not to me, not that I can remember~ Libre answered. ~Want me to try talking to her?~

~Better you than me~ Thelon agreed.

~I'll try~ Libre replied and sought out the familiar feel of his sister's mind. ~Flame?~

Lalita stretches and turns a bit in her bedroll, getting comfortable, "Maybe I'll get a chance to see a city sometime, who knows?" She grins, "Rest well Flame."
