Lya grinned cheekily, having not really grasped what the boys meant. "Minx indeed," she agreed, splashing him heartily. Getting a wicked idea, she moved away from him abruptly and sought to buoy herself up just enough that most of her wings lifted out of the water. Then, with a laugh, she flapped them vigorously, managing to soak everyone in a fairly good radius with the spray.

Shouts of protest ring out, but it's all admist good spirited laughter. Damien and Ann catch each other's eyes and grin mischieviously before Ann and several of her friends dive under the water and group together to pull Lya back properly into the water. "We got you, Lady Lya!" Ann giggles.

"Yes, please, save me from the little water imps," Lya laughed. She was careful not to buffet any of the children with her wings, and her squirming was kept to a minimal. She tried to swoon in distress at the onslaught. "Before they spirit me away!"

Damien swims over, scooping up the smallest of the children and tossing them a small distance away before shooing Ann and the other child. "There, you're safe from the imps, my lady," he annouces, then grins. "But not from me." Quick as lighting he dunks Lya.
"Should have seen that coming!" Tres calls when Lya resurfaces.

Sputtering, Lya gasps for the breath to laugh. She gives him a soggy-feathered slap with a wing and tries to pounce him, but most of her strength has been used up, and it's a feeble attempt, resulting in her hanging on to him with her arms around his neck.
"I think," she panted, "That's enough swimming for me. What about you, Damien?"

"Uh..." Damien has to struggle to get his thoughts going in the proper motion with Lya clinging to him while in a now quite skin tight dress. A glance at her triggers a sudden surge of jealousy and disgust, directed at Shadow of course. "Uh, yes. I think it's probably time to dry off a bit," he agrees. Several of those around the pair, including Tres, snigger quietly at their leader.

Letting go, Lya waded back to the dry land, finding a good spot to sit down. She retrieved her daughter and stretched out with Luminous resting against her chest and belly, one wing draped protectively over her infant. Contently, she began to let the sun do its work.
They're so free, she thought in wonderment, listening to all the people around her. I can understand the misconceptions that the outside world has, but.. Forces, they should try living like this once!
She opened an eye lazily and called out in general, though was looking at Damien, "Will there be any music tonight? I'm told the clans have the most.. unique music around."

Damien pulls himself out of the water and finds a spot nearby to lie back and dry off. "Be careful Lya, you're pale enough to burn in a second," he warns. "I'd hate to have Talen'sul come storming in, thinking we shoved their Queen into a camp fire." He chuckles softly at the image. "Enjoying yourself?"

"Very much," Lya professed, turning her head towards Damien. "And yes, I will be careful." For emphasis she draped her other wing over herself, effectively shading the rest of her body save for her head, and giving her some modesty back where her revealing dress failed. "I'm so glad you asked me here. Say, when is dinner and the stories going to be?"

Damien glances up at the sky to judge where the sun is. "Oh, in a couple of hours I'd say," he tells her. "Around sunset, though the cooks will start finishing the preparations in around an hour. And to answer your question, I think we can arange some music. Possibly some dancing too. Forces know, those with any talent love an excuse to show off their dancing."

"I'd love some music," Lya professed. "If it isn't going to be any trouble, I was hoping you could arrange for some tonight?"
Yawning, and realizing if she fell asleep out here she'd wake up barely able to move, Lya decided it was time to retreat indoors. "I think I'll snooze away the remaining heat then. Come fetch me when dinner and stories begin." She reached out, fingertips brushing against his hand as she gave his hand a soft squeeze, then scooped up her Luminous and retreated back to Tres's hut.

Damien watches her go, then gets up to make the arrangements. It's not a hard task. As Damien had predicted, Fira is thrilled at a chance to show off and word spreads quickly. By dinner time, the clan is ready.
"Lya?" Damien calls, stepping into Tres hut. "Dinner's about to start."

"Good," Lya called out, her voice still tinged with sleep but looking bright eyed and excited as she stepped out. Her outfit had dried completely, and she'd brushed her hair out and worked on rebraiding it as best as she could. Good as new.
Wandering towards the firepit, Lya took a seat, looking around with eager anticipation.

Damien grins at Lya, taking a seat next to her as Tres flops down on the wind's other side. "Well you've made yourself popular, Lya," she comments with a laugh, although she's watching the collasable tables being loaded with food and keeping an eye on Libre as well. "We do enjoy a chance to show off, the children in particular." Damien chuckles and nods in agreement.
"Tres is right," he laughs. "And it's good for the children to have an audience that won't notice if they miss a step."
"Will you be playing with the others tonight, Damien?" Tres asks with a grin.
"I might," Damien allows, getting up and offering a hand to Lya. "Come on Lya, let's get something to eat. Before Tres can try and talk me into anything."

Lya smiles and accepts his hand gracially, her left hand slipping into his right one. For a moment, she notices an odd flickering change in the fire; but only briefly. An idea steals into her mind and she grins widely, filing it away for later. That could wait for when the music began. She hoped they enjoyed her show as well.
Getting some food for herself, she went and took a seat again. Libre, joining the adults, smiled brightly at Lya and even more so at Luminous. "Can I hold her?"
Lya nodded, watching with some amusement as the boy cradled Luminous carefully, talking to her as if the babe understood every word he said.
