"That's no surprise," Twilight remarked easily. "As long as I wouldn't be shackled right off the bat. I'd have an opportunity to nab Saph with any luck, and maybe even send the bastard on a false trail, eh?"

[Northen Light36]

Flash nods then gives Twilight a greatful smile. "Thank you for this, Twilight. If there's ever anything I can do for you, please, just ask."

[Kender Bard]

"Don't mention it," Twilight mumbles and hastens away to tend to his business.

"I think he's glad to have something to do," Salacia said, then looked at Flash thoughtfully. "What do we do now though?"

[Northen Light36]

"Wait and hope," Flash sighes, then smiles slightly. "Something that's slighter easier for me now. Thank you dear." He reaches out to take Salacia's hand. "Something occured to me today. I really should get to know your children a little better and see if they're as wonderful as their mother." He smiles warmly at Salacia and asks, "Do you think any of them are free at the moment?"

[Kender Bard]

"Certainly," Salacia says, and ponders who that would be. "Emerald and Snow are likely to be free. Emerald just needs to keep an eye on Sunray half the time here. Her duties take place more as he travels. Snowflake must meet the demands of our people seeking guidance from Love during this time, but they are settling now, and so she has mostly only to tend to her prayers and her little acolyte."

Flash thinks and then says, "Well how about you introduce me to Snowflake? She's your oldest daughter, isn't she?"

[Kender Bard]

Salacia nodded and started walking to where Snowflakes quarters were. "Aye, and she's my second oldest child. She's a gentle, shy thing. Don't feel bad if she is quiet when not talking of her beloved Force." She knocked at the door and Snowflake answered, smiling at the sight of her mother. "Snow, my dear, would you be willing to have a little chat with Sir Flash?"

"Of course," Snowflake said, opening the door wider. "Please, come in."

Flash steps into the room as invited, giving Snowflake a warm smile. "I hope I'm not disturbing you, Lady Snowflake," he says politely.

[Kender Bard]

"Not at all," Snowflake murmured, watching Salacia leave. She took her seat by an easel in the corner of the room. A half-done painting sat on the easel. It looked as though it might become a picture of the landscape, covered in snow.

Flash takes a moment to examine the painting and smiles. "You have a lot of talent, Lady Snowflake," he compliments her, taking a seat. "How are you adjusting to Maelstrom? I know the city must seem quite different from your home."

[Kender Bard]

"Quite," Snowflake admitted. "I'm learning to adjust. The mountains come as a surprise to me, but the hills feel more like home. I know Sunray has been debating whether we should nestle ourselves between the two lands of the Kingdom or find some room at the foothills of Maelstrom. And, of course, we must speak at length with the King and Queen about it. But as to your original question... This is a nice place, and it is not hard to adjust to. Are the people adjusting to us well?"

"I believe so," Flash replies. "I've certainly heard nothing but good things from the population and believe me, no one in Maelstrom is shy about complaining when something bothers them." Flash rolls his eyes a little at that. "You said the hills feel more like home? Personally, I prefer the mountains, but then, I was born here, so I suppose it's natural I'd feel more at home among them." F

lash glances a little wistfully out the window. "They are quite beautiful, you know. More so if you go off the pathes and just ride or walk." Glancing curiously at Snowflake, he asks, "Have you had a chance to see much of them? There are some lovely spots for sightseeing not far from here."

[Kender Bard]

Snowflake shook her head. "No, it would not be seemly of me to go dashing off like that. It'd be dangerous as well. I can't ask Emerald to leave Sunray's side. Twilight has offered to take me, but I fear that something would happen in my absence."

[Northen Light36]

"Well I don't recomend you go with just your family in any case," Flash warns. "Once you get off the main road, the trails can be a little confusing to someone who doesn't know them. If you're honestly interrested though, let me know and I'll find some time to take you on a tour."

[Kender Bard]

"That would be most appreciated," Snowflake said with a smile. "Perhaps at a time when I find myself idle." Smiling wider, she adds, "Have you taken mother yet?"
