I'm home, where's dinner?|Clan Seere, Beastlands

[tuo]

"Yeah, or at least once he gets some food. Then we're gonna get Felix and Topsy and get them to finally get to working. Maybe your own tracks are still fresh enough to follow back to the faeries.." Drake murmured audibly.

[Kender Bard]

"Maybe!" Kura agreed hopefully. "I'm coming too, right? To show you the way?"

She didn't want to be separate from her fathers ever again. Or at least, not for a very long time.

[tuo]

"Of course. This time you're getting a weapon though." Drake answers before standing up. "I should probably get some rest too while I can..we'll get them back daughter."

[Kender Bard]

"Daddy, can I stay with you?" Kura asked quietly. "I'll be good and quiet and even sleep, but I had nightmares... And when I woke up and the room was empty..." She trailed off and just gave him a sad and pleading look.

[tuo]

Drake gave her a weary nod before holding a hand to her. "Yeah, of course you can kid." He says gently before helping her settle down in bed to sleep.

[Kender Bard]

This time, Kura slept more deeply. The nightmares came but they weren't as bad--especially not when she woke to the presence of both her fathers. That let her fall almost immediately back into sleep, even if it was a broken sleep.

The next morning she woke more slowly and at a more reasonable hour and sat up in the bed, rubbing at her eyes. The loss of her brother and mother struck almost immediately and twisted her heart--she wanted to throw on clothes and go get them. Now. But first she checked to see if her fathers were even awake.

She found that Adam was resting still while Drake was sitting on the bed, appearing to be deep in thought, unable to sleep. "Feeling any better kid?" He asks after hearing her wake up.

[Kender Bard]

"Yeah," she answered. "Really hungry though." In fact she felt like her stomach was trying to gnaw a hole through her and crawl out. "Is Daddy Adam okay?" She was concerned that he was still asleep. She reached over and put her face near his, peering at him but careful not to touch and wake him.

[tuo]

"Yeah..he's sleeping a lot better then he has in a while. Though if we don't wake him to go soon he'll be pretty pissed at us." Drake says before rising with a sigh. "Strange, he could barely sleep while everyone was missing and I could..but once you showed up I can barely sleep and he can.."

[Kender Bard]

Kura decided to let Adam sleep just a little more before she woke him up, assuming Drake didn't beat her to it. She slipped off the bed and gave a stretch and yawn that shook her. "Why?" she asked, looking up at him even as she took his hand and tried to lead him to the kitchen. She wasn't kidding about being hungry. "Is it something I did?"

Drake allowed her to lead him to the kitchen before grabbing some stuff for Kura to eat. "You didn't do anything wrong. I was just thinking about stuff..now that we can actually do something I can't seem to make myself calm down.."

[Kender Bard]

"Oh, I think I know what that's like," Kura said as she moved into a seat. "It's like whenever you taught me something new about being a Wrathful. I wanted to go do it myself right away. But if I couldn't for some reason, then it makes you squirm." It was the closest approximation she could come up with, at least.

While Kura tore into her breakfast hungrily, a feeling settled into Drake's mind. It was an outside presence--Soahc. But he didn't speak. Either the Force didn't feel like talking to the priest or else he had other things to do, so all that was left was an impression. Whatever reason Soahc had asked the family to go down to the Beastlands for was done. They were free to go back.

Of course, they would never go without the rest of the family so it was a rather cheap way for Soahc to conserve how much time they actually owed him, but then, that was Soahc.

Drake paused in middle of eating at that impression and grumbles under his breath about cheap all powerful beings. "Why don't you go wake Adam up now. He'll need to get some food in him before we head out anyways."

[Kender Bard]

Kura smiled at that and hurried back to the bedroom, though her enthusiasm had dimmed quickly. Usually Lysander would be with her to annoy Adam into wakefulness. Saddened, she did little more than crawl up onto the bed and shake him. "Daddy, wake up. Time to wake up and eat so we can go get Lysander!"

[tuo]

After a moment Adam stirred awake and began to stretch out with a small groan. "Ugh..Kura? ..Oh thank Soahc, it wasn't a dream!" Suddenly, Adam grabs Kura into a tight hug.
