Taed's Warning Pt.4|Aegestrom, Maelstrom

[Devon]

Christian arrived in Maelstrom after he had finished with his business in Talen'sul. Heading towards the castle, Christian immediately sought an audience with the King and Queen of Caelium.

The public audience was currently in progress, so Christian was shown into a comfortable sitting room to wait until the royal couple could see him. It didn't take too long - Shadow never minded and excuse to cut audience short.

"My apologies for keeping you waiting, High Priest," the king remarked as he entered with Lya. "What brings you to Maelstrom?"

[Devon]

"It's all right your majesty," Christian replied to the king. "I'm only here to deliver a warning to you on behalf of my lord Taed."

[Northen Light36]

"A warning from Taed?" Shadow repeated in surprise. "Well then, please tell me what this warning is."

[Devon]

"In the coming fall and winter, there will be increased attacks from the wild creatures and monsters of the land," Christian said to the monarch. "Taed wishes to aid the people so I'm having all the Scythes in the temple help with the defense of the nations."

[Kender Bard]

Lya's eyes widened slightly. She stopped fidgeting uncomfortably and stood still. "Oh my, that's terrible news. Is there anything we can do to prevent it?"

[Devon]

"No," Christian said simply. "You can only prepare yourselves and your people for whats to come. I'm not even sure how bad it will be, but I'm still going to have my Scythes ready to defend alongside your guards or whichever might you use."

"I see," Shadow murmured, already starting to let himself make plans for how to safeguard his people. A thought occurred to him and he added to Christian, "Are you speaking to all the Leaders about this? If so, I can save you at least part of the trip. Honoured Leader Ann Firachild is currently staying with me."

[Devon]

"Then I'd like to meet her," Christian said to the king. "So far I've been to Ilyamen, Talen'sul, and Anarlina, that would cross off one name."

Roundabout way to travel, Shadow thought idly as he sent a servant to fetch Ann.

It didn't take the Naurorod Leader long to arrive, though she was visibly puzzled as to why she'd been summoned. "You wanted me," her eyes flicked over to Christian, "Shadow?"

"Yes," Shadow replied with a slight smile, knowing what Ann had had to stop herself saying. "Ann, this is Taed's High Priest, Christian. He would like to speak with you."

[Kender Bard]

Lya began to shift from foot to foot again. Forces, but she hurt.

Oh.

"Shadow," she leaned over and murmured quietly to him. "I'm not entirely certain we need to stay here for a retelling of the same thing again. And there is some urgent business I need to speak with you about alone."

Shadow looked at Lya in surprise, then nodded. "We'll leave you be," he told them and lead Lya out of the room.

Ann glanced at the pair of them, nodded, and turned to Christian. "So, what is it you want to tell me about?"

[Devon]

"A warning from my master Taed to the people of Naruta," Christian said. "In the fall and winter months of this year, creatures and monsters of the land will start attacking the people more and more."

Ann frowned at that. "Winter and Fall you said?" Damnit! The Fira move and split, and all the clans have reduced numbers of warriors and scouts right now. Gonna have to warn the clans quickly. "All right, we can deal with that. Thank you for the warning."
