Name: Elise Yorn
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Birth Date: Aueril 3rd, y. 993 (Spring)
Family: Kuro Yorn- Uncle, Reave innkeeper
Friends: Ganda- Now more than a friend, Gardener/ Messenger
Elemental Signs: Clear
Occupation: Basket Weaver
Favoured Force: Efil
Appearance:
Elise is rather short at only 5’, and of slender build. Her hair is dark auburn and her eyes a deep green, which are perhaps her only dominant feature. Her skin is pale and slightly freckled from the sun, her nose a bit long and her mouth a bit small, but her eyes help draw attention away from such detracting features. The niece of an innkeeper, and only a basket weaver herself, Elise wears simple clothes, usually in greens and blues, her shoes simply of tanned leather. Her hair she merely keeps out of her face by knotting the side strands back behind her head. Her hands are small and use to the wear of the reeds and vines she works with.
Personality:
Shy to a fault, Elise is more likely to grow quiet and still than she is to ever raise her voice. Though easily startled, she isn’t without courage, finding more of it within her when the one’s she loves are at risk. Having lost her parents in the violence of Lacuna’s fall, she is far more willing to avoid it at all costs than she is to add to it, be it through word or deed. She is very loving, witty, and kind, thinking more of others than herself. Though she enjoys solitude and quiet, Elise finds equal pleasure in a trusted companion’s presence. She sees herself as nothing special, an average girl with even less impressive skills, and is uncomfortable with only one aspect of herself, her Clear powers. The one time she failed to keep them in check would have crushed her were she not lucky enough for it to have been Ganda that it happened with.
History:
Elise was born to two Clear parents, both of whom opposed the use of their powers that sparked the War. When Lacuna fell, her father was killed as they escaped during its fall, her mother only managing to sustain her wounds until she’d reached her father, an Earth elemental that took the girl in and helped her mourn her mother’s death. For years, he traveled with Elise, who was still learning to control her power. He tutored her himself in plants and lore, reading and writing, and above all basket weaving, the trade that allowed him to put bread on their table. When he got word of Reave’s founding he took the girl there, hoping to find her father’s brother, another Clear who could better help her understand the risks of her power.
As luck would have it, they found her uncle, who took her in, the man insisting her grandfather stay as well, helping about the inn he owned when he could. Years past, her grandfather died, and Elise grew into a comely young woman who was far too shy for her uncle’s liking. Preferring the solitude of the woods outside the city, it was there she forgot herself, as she did at times, and unknowingly ensnared a young messenger named Ganda. It was hard on her, having done the very thing she’d been raised to abhor but the young man was understanding, and together they got past it, grew close, and became near inseparable. Her being wistful for the mountains she’d only seen once as a young girl with her grandfather, Ganda agreed to take her to his homeland and so now they are traveling through the western marches east of Mt. Humontis.
