Party Planning|Darkthrone, New Morilanta

[Devon]

Saul briskly walked through his manor, ordering workers to put the finishing touches on the party he was throwing for the nobles of Morilanta. On the surface it was just as an announcement so to speak of the union he'd share with Anarchy, but more importantly it was to gain control of the entire class in one fell swoop. Zenobe and his Clear forces should have arrived already and knew of their places. As not to arouse any suspicion he had the Clears he was intending to use pose as decorators and other various jobs in the party planning process. Saul scanned the area with a small nod of satisfaction. The guests would be arriving soon, now he'd need to find Anarchy so they could play hosts.

Brushing himself off on the way, Saul adjusted his black coat, lined with blood red embroidery and underneath he wore a red lace shirt.

[Kender Bard]

Anarchy was just emerging from her room, having taken care and pains on her appearance. It was mostly for the part, but also to please Saul. She had been almost angry with herself to realize she did want to please him. At first she feared she had been ensnared but then reasoned that, no. She genuinely liked him. It'd be stupid on an epic scale to throw away such a treasured and valuable ally on paranoia.

She had worn her best gown, long and flowing silk and satin of Morilantan black. Generally the outfit featured embroidered designs in golden thread as she patrioatically flaunted Morilanta's colors, complete with golden anklets, bracelets, and other jewelry. But, since her engagement to Saul, she decided to hastily add a dash of red to please him and had taken a long silken scarf and wrapped it about her waist like a sash beneath the belly-chain that encircled her hips. It was overly long and spilled down her side.

"I'm ready," she called out, reaching up and fussing slightly with the delicate gold-chain circlet she wore.

[Devon]

Saul eyed Anarchy and his lips curled up into a smile. Moving over to his soon to be wife, he couldn't resist putting his arms around her waist. "My I must say this dress looks amazing on you Anarchy. You'll be sure to turn a few heads at this party tonight. The preparations are already done, now all that is needed is for us is to take our places and greet the guests."

[Kender Bard]

Anarchy grinned and leaned into Saul's embrace, leaning forward slightly as though she would kiss him but not closing the distance. "Would it please you if I did charm and bedazzle the nobles? I think I can arrange it. I could distract anyone who seems a little too interested in the servants, not that I expect it will happen."

[Devon]

"That is a great idea Anarchy," Saul replied with a small smirk. "They need to get to know more about you anyway, this will be a good chance to show off for them."

[Kender Bard]

Anarchy walked with Saul to where they could expect the servants to escort the various nobles. And several of them did turn out - most of them did, in fact. They saw this as an excellent opportunity to come together under the banner of pseudo-peaceful intentions and forge alliances, deals, and other such things during the small talk of the party. Of course others were too busy with their own plans to attend, and so not all the nobles were present.

Several brought small gifts, which Anarchy accepted and sat down nearby with no real intention of ever opening anytime soon. Almost assuredly, they were all traps, tricks, or subtle insults.

Instead she focused on seeing to it everyone was herded to where they needed to go and flitted from person to person like a black, red, and gold butterfly. Wherever she saw the potential for someone to scrutinize one of their Clears too closely, she was there, talking away, smiling, being distracting. She kept an ear out as well but the information gathering was merely second nature.

[Devon]

While Anarchy was doing that, Saul played the gracious host and greeted the nobles so there wouldn't be room left for them to complain about him not saying hello. Excusing himself to check on some further party preparations he ducked off into a small room to see if Zenobe was there as he was instructed.

[Kender Bard]

Zenobe was, leaning against a wall and looking terribly bored; though he was also wound up with nerves at the part he and his men were to play. If something went wrong, it'd be HIS head on a pike. "My lord," he greeted Saul when he saw him.

[Devon]

"We will be beginning the party shortly," Saul said as he closed the door behind him. "I want to give Anarchy some time to get away from the manor before we start though. Listen out for me preparing a toast, when I raise my glass you and your men begin."

[Kender Bard]

"As you wish," Zenobe remarked with a small bow of his head. "I will have my men begin to take their positions. We've already planned the myriad of things they can be doing so as not to draw attention."

[Devon]

Saul nodded and turned to leave the room. Stopping in front of the door he looked over his shoulder at Zenobe. "Good, a lot is riding on this..do well not to mess it up," he warned as he left the room and got back to the party. Finding Anarchy he joined her side, casually putting his hand on her waist. Leaning over he nuzzled her neck and whispered, "Its time for you to take your leave."

[Kender Bard]

"So soon," Anarchy murmured. "I'm going to miss the best part." She turned and kissed his lips softly. "Very well then. Be sure to fetch me soon." She told him where she'd be - a nearby, fancy, expensive eatery that catered only to the very privileged. Then she slipped out of his arms and weaved through the crowds once more, professing her absolute sorrow but she really MUST leave for a little while. Errands, very pressing, all that. She dropped just enough subtle hints to give the impression that something they had been planning (or she had) was not going well and she was being sent to clean it up which only served to boost the confidence and egos of those there. After all, THEIR plans were coming along smoothly.

Feeling smug, Anarchy took her leave.

[Devon]

Saul took his place on a small stage in the party room so that he stood over his guests. Taking up a glass of wine in his hand, he began to speak. "Thank you all for coming tonight to celebrate my recent proposal. I hope I've been a good host to you all and now that things have settled the party can truly begin." Saul raised his glass high and smiled to the nobles. "Let us make a toast..for new beginnings not just in my life but in Morilanta and yours as well."

[Kender Bard]

At 'toast' the stationed Clears released their auras to wash over the assembled guests. Most of the men there were older Clears; old enough to give trouble to two-signers with the right conditions. Where there seemed there might be resistance, some of the Clears had moved closer together to combine their focus and efforts, leaving the 'weaker' Elementals to those with less fellow Clears around them. It was a battle of wills and none of the servants wanted to risk anything by saying anything.

It wasn't until one of the people there, one who had felt the touch of a Clear before (unlike most of the Morilantans), cried out, "Clears! They're-"

"Be silent," one of the servants near her uttered and she fell abruptly silent. Others cried out at that and the Clears fought to bring them to heel with their power. Having successfully ensnared many of the people there before true awareness had set in helped enormously as the 'strength in numbers' for the Elementals was rapidly whittled away.

Zenobe nodded once he saw orders being obeyed by all assembled. "It is done, my lord," he told Saul.

[Devon]

"Ha-ha-ha-ha!" Saul cackled, still holding his glass of wine. Everything so far had gone exactly as planned, he had a good bit of the noble population under his control and becoming king was easily in sight. "Now then you fools, lets have a toast to your new king..Saul Dardan!"
