Nalani pulled the hood of her cloak down over her face, hiding within its shadow and not looking left or right. Her hair was pulled back. With any luck, nobody in the temple would recognize her.
She felt strange to be in the temple. At once, it seemed as though she were coming home and to a strange place. It wasn't a pleasant feeling but neither was it painful. Her curiosity was stronger than her need to hide away, anyway.
And so she tiptoed her way into the Soahc wing and looked around, wondering if Master was even still there.
Master was indeed still there, lounging lazily on a cushion as he nibbled a piece of fruit held by a smiling Generous priestess, who stroked the back of his neck with her free hand. He was fully clad in his black robes and (surprisingly) not making any kind of suggestive moves, seeming content with the innocent pampering he was being given. A call from one of her templemates called the priestess away, and she surrendered the rest of the fruit to Master and gave him a peck on the forehead before bouncing off to see what was needed.
Master had watched her approach with curiosity, wondering if perhaps some anonymous soul was going to ask that he ensnare her for a time. It hadn't happened yet, but, well, hope springs eternal. He sat up and grinned when Nalani uncovered her face.
"Descending into anarchy again, pretty bird?" he asked. "Join us, then, and choose your sin. I recommend lust, of course, and I know some women in your state start wanting it so much, it's practically a need, and one that I'm more than happy to satisfy."

Nalani grit her teeth and gave Master a sharp look. Her feathers poofed with agitation. "I didn't come here to steep myself in more shame," she muttered shortly. "I came because I was wondering if you were even still here. Against the odds, here you are. I thought you'd have run off by now."
"Said I was going to see what happened, didn't I?" Or maybe he hadn't. Who could remember what they said months ago? More importantly, what did it really matter? He wanted to see if the kid would be Clear, so he was there.
"And it's only shame if you let yourself be shamed. Lots of people not of Soahc enjoy the fruits of lust, after all," Master told her. "It's all in how you look at it. Grape?" He offered the bunch of green fruit to her.

Nalani was going to refuse, but then decided that grapes sounded very good and instead accepted with a murmur of thanks, her bearing more relaxed as she rather ravenously began to pop them into her mouth and savor the flavor. "I didn't really believe you," she admitted. "Well, now I see that you're here and all, I suppose my curiosity is satisfied. I was actually coming to visit for a dual purpose."
She glanced over her shoulder and back to the main hall. "I was going to see some of the other temples and broach some of the priests. I haven't been here since I last spoke with you. Perhaps I'll go see the Taedeans."

Nalani stopped chewing, frowned, and tossed the grapes back at him with a frown. She didn't want anymore... well she did but that was enough. "I don't know," she muttered. "Maybe just to hear a sermon. Taed is a tangible Force at least. Perhaps he'll hear my prayers and actually do something about it."
"Because the Forces exist solely to make our lives easier," Master remarked, catching the grapes. "Depending on what you're praying for, the Bone Daddy might just decide to strike you dead. He'd be getting a two for one deal, after all."
The priest plucked a grape from the bunch and tossed it up in the air, catching it neatly in his mouth.

"Well that would certainly solve everyone's problems quite neatly, wouldn't it?" Nalani growled bitterly. She gave an irritated sigh. "At least it'd be an end to things." She turned and started to stalk away angrily.

"The good can be hard to see sometimes," Nalani murmured as she came to stand in front of Taed's wing. One of the priests there, having overheard some snippets of the conversation, was already at the entrance. He smelled a convert.
"You seek an end to something, child?" the priest murmured to Nalani.
"To sadness," Nalani confirmed.
The Taedean spread his hands. "Ours is the lord of deaths, but also of endings." Nalani nodded slightly as she listened. "We endure the pains of living to be guaranteed happiness beyond the Veil."
"That differs from the other Force paths how?" Master piped up. "Seeing life as something to be endured is all in how a person looks at it, regardless of what Force they follow, and every Force promises a happy ending after death. Worg: Persevere, get good afterlife. Soahc: Embrace imperfection, party beyond the Veil. Taed: Deal with the inconvenience of living, I'll make up for when you die."
