Eril sighed again, his expression not that unlike Nathan's after a sleepless night. "He is a good boy, and I know it is, but.... Sadly, I can govern only my own responses. Mari...I can't say how she'll react. I'm not angry," he assured Mina. "I wish he'd put more thought into this - aside from us, other people will treat and react to him differently because of that kind of tattoo - and I wish he'd discussed it beforehand, but it's done and he'll have to live with it."

It's just one more thing, he added silently. The full list had been gone through the night before after he and Nathan had finished their performance and he was starting to come to an uncomfortable conclusion.

Mina offered Eril a comforting pat and then bowed slightly. "I will pray Etaf guide your family to happiness and Soahc grant you all resiliency to come through this with fresh perspective. And of course, you may always call upon me for whatever you may need."

She turned and walked over to Adrián, laying a hand gently on his shoulder. "Chin up," she murmured to him, smiling slightly, which grew slightly as she added, "And for what it's worth, I think the tattoo makes you look... fearsome." She winked slightly.

Adrián gave her a weak smile in return. "I just hope my mom doesn't mind a fearsome-looking son," he said quietly as Eril walked back over and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Let's go home, Adrián. After we show your mother - " And she calms down "- we are going to have a little talk about this."

"Yes sir," the boy murmured as he started trudging slowly the rest of the way home.

"I'll likely see you and Nathan later, Mina," Eril told her. "Good day."
