Naika looked at the large building and found herself slightly...overwhelmed. The entire place was pratically one giant building. She lifted a hand in a silent testament to the ones who had built it; they probably had a rough time of it, unless some of them had been earths.

Shaking her head, she discarded that line of thought and entered the building through the main doors and blinked at the sight of so many books. "Good Forces..." she muttered and began to walk amidst the many bookshelves.

Shima stepped out of his room with a book and began to walk down the familer path towards the section containing the math and alchemy section while opening the book to continue to read it. Along the way he calmly walked around several of the other priests if they did not step around him first.

Soon he came upon the section that Naika currently walked and paused shortly and glanced from his book briefly to confirm her presence. "Welcome to the home of Knowledge. May I assist you in locating anything in paticular?"

Naika startled a little bit and glanced at Shima, eyes wide. "Oh uh..." she looked him over and pursed her lips, wondering how he would react to such an ambiguos answer. "I'm looking for ancients texts. Things dating as far back as you have."

She wanted to look at them in order to see if there might be anything worth exploring. Maybe old settlements...maybe temples long forgotten. Things like that.

Shima lowered his book slightly to get another look at her. "I'm sorry, but such books are normally restricted to the High priest and the Intellectus. May I inquire as to your reasons for studying such books?"

She considered him silently and then smiled. "I'm interested in ancient history. Things that detail so far back that some might not recall. I'm an explorer of every sort, so I like to explore hidden books as well as actual hidden place."

Shrugging, Naika sighed inwardly. She hadn't expected that the books she be most interested in would be...restricted.

Shima sighed inwardly as he closed his book, placing a bookmarker at the right page. "I can take you to see High Priest Aeron if you like. He is able to authorize others to read ancient text, if he can be given good enough reason."

Naika blinked, but, maybe she could reason with him. Or be bluntly honest. That usually worked. "Um, if you don't mind?"

Shima shakes his head. "No, I suppose I don't mind too much. If you'll follow me. Oh, but first I must ask if you moved any of the books since you've been here?"

"None, haven't really had a chance to look, actually. Lead on, good man," she laughed.

Shima smiles at her apparant good mood and turns to lead her through the rows upon rows of books to where Aeron can usually be found.

Aeron was at his office as expected, though he was busy talking to two individuals. Catching sight of Shima, he held up a single finger. The little meeting went on a few minutes more before the individuals departed leaving Aeron alone.

Sighing heavily, he asked, "What is it Brother Shima?"

Shima bowed his head respectfully. "Forgive me Learned One, but we have a visitor who desires to speak with you concerning ancient texts." Mentally he spoke to Aeron. ~I have been unable to detect any ill intent within her yet. Shall I remain to continue to monitor her or may I return to my duties?~

Aeron frowned heavily at this turn of events. It was times like these he was glad Minds were drawn to Mentis.

"What are your signs?" Aeron asked of Naika, looking her over.

She blinked and ran a hand through her hair. "There are several different ways to answer your question, High Priest. However, it would best if I answered you honestly; not only for myself, but..." she cut a glance at Shima and then back at Aeron.

"I do not have any signs. I am a clear."

Aeron's gaze didn't waver. He gave a slight nod. "Very well. Brother Shima, please stay a while longer. Young woman, may I ask what you wish to peruse our most delicate texts about?"
