Fresh From the Forge - done

Kori unlocked the doors to the forge and stepped in, her brother soon following. They set their things down wearily and began to turn a few things on. Suddenly she stopped and stared into the forge.

"Kaleb?"

"Yes?"

"Before we left, we cleaned the forge top to bottom, right?"

"Yes, why do you ask something so obvious?"

"Well," she moved off to the side and pointed to a bundle of cloth, straw and other randomly assorted things thay lay right in the middle of her hotest forge when it was on.

"Ah..." he said and then they both fell quiet as two little head popped out the bundle and stared right back at them. "....ferrets?" he said, crouching down and holding a finger out.

They came running out and sniffed his finger, rubbing against it. "They're really warm!" he exclaimed picking them both up. "Like....fire."

Kori came up and petted the creme colored with slight red patches first and then the black with the red tip. "Wow, they really are. Should we keep them...?"

Kori sighed as she stood in front of the large castle gates. She had behind her a bunch of chests that she had had so much fun bringing here.

On her shoulders rode her and her brothers new aquisitions, the strange creatures they dubbed flarrets. "Excuse me!" she called out. Kaleb suggested that she dress up for going to the castle, but she refused. If they didn't like the way she dressed, then all the forces in the world could take them to oblivion.

"Excuse me!" she called out again.

Alerted by the guards, Flash comes out to greet the siblings. "Good evening," he greets them, then smiles as memory clicks. "Would these be the weaponry we ordered?"

"Yes. We've labored long over them and are here to deliver them. Is there a place to bring them in?" she asked, waving a hand behind her to indicate the many chests that there were. "I like to give them they're finishing shines and touches before handing them off to the people who will wield them."

Gareth followed Flash, curious as to what was up. When he spotted Kori, he smiled widely. "Ah, hello again Kori. Well met - how are you today?"

She blinked a little tiredly and then an equally big smile appeared on her face. "Oh hello, I'm doing good and so, of course, Kaleb is too. It's been quite some time. How is the sword working out for you?"

It had taken Kori some seconds to recognize Gareth now, when the last time she saw him he was...a little worse for the ware.

Gareth patted the sword at his hip and his smile brightened. "Faithful as always. I know that your work is the highest of quality and our men will be well equipped with your wares."

"Yes; as you can see I have all these today that..." she paused to recall the other mans name and while she was doing so, the flarets hopped down from her shoulders, one going to Gareth and the other to Flash.

"...Flashhad requested I make."

Gareth jumped in surprise, holding out his hands to catch the flaret. Scylla, ever-present on Gareth's own shoulder, began to throw off irritated sparks at this invasion and opened her mouth to make a querulous trill.

Flash blinks in surprise as he catches the other flaret, then smiles and pets it. "Well, aren't you cute?" he remarks, then looks at the blacksmiths. "You have unusual pets. I don't think I've seen anything like them."

"Ah!" Kori cried quickly going to Gareth and scooping the little chittering flaret into her hands. "I'm sorry," she murmured, trying to soothe Scylla. "I haven't quite tamed them yet..."

"We found them in our Forge this morning," supplied Kaleb, in answer to Flash's inquiry.

Flash raises an eyebrow at that and comments, "Must have been quite a surprise. I wonder where they came from." After a second Flash shakes his head and says, "Well that's a mystery for another day. You can put the chests in the armory, if you'd like. It's the large stone building just left of the training grounds."

Kaleb smiled. "Thank you..." he glanced at his sister. "Perhaps in a moment..when she isn't so occupied."

"It's no problem," Gareth assured Kori with a smile. "I think Scylla is just a bit possessive of her perch."

"I can understand that, I guess. Um," she looked over to her waiting brother and considered. "Say, would you like to accompany us after we get these swords settled. I'd like o give yours a check and make sure there is nothing wrong with it."

Gareth couldn't help himself. His cheeks heated up until he was sure he was as red as an apple. "Er, yes, that'd be very good," he mumbled, managing to keep a straight face. "Thank you."
