"And that's the hand," Amaro comments to Acqua. "The legend says that it lead the first Earths to Mount Humontis." Snuggled up against her brother, Acqua follows Amaro's finger, trying to make out the shape of a hand in the night sky.
"I see it!" she says, smiling happily. "Amaro?"
"Yeah kid?"
"Do you think the legend is true?" Acqua asks. Amaro glances down at his sister, then back up at the hand thoughtfully.
"I've seen stranger things," he allows, then smirks at Acqua. "Like learning to love a smelly little brat out of Flux."
"Or an arrogant Storm merc," Acqua counters with a laugh. She loves these evenings. They were Amaro's way of making sure Acqua knew she was still one of the most important things in his life, a reasurence Acqua insisted she didn't need, but was glad to have anyway.
Sighing, Amaro shifts his position and mutters, "I'm getting to old for sitting outside all night."
"Rubbish," Acqua says with a snort. "Aria just isn't letting you sleep enough." Amaro laughs.
"Either way, it's time for bed," he tells Acqua, then kisses the top of her head before standing up. "Come on, we're both half asleep."
"Am not," Acqua replies, but she still lets Amaro lead her inside and tuck her into bed.
"Sleep well kid," Amaro says, picking Acqua's teddy off the floor and giving it to her. As he reaches the doorway Amaro pauses an adds, "Your room is a pigsty. Clean it up in the morning."
"Goodnight Amaro," Acqua sighes. Amaro chuckles and heads down the hall to his and Cass' room. Downstairs, Faith slips out the window to go out and hunt and in no time at all the house is quiet, with the only sounds being that of sleeping people.
