[Kender Bard]

Talon walked with Darin into the nearest tavern and took a seat, placing an order for some drinks. "Your lady must give you more freedom than mine," Talon remarked to Darin. "I wouldn't have spoke business about her. You saw the results."

[Devon]

"My lady used to be in the same business as the younger girl that was with you," Darin replied. "You're a family man as far as I can see. How is it? I'm expecting a kid of my own."

[Kender Bard]

Talon's eyes softened as he picked up his drink and took a sip. "Children are the greatest blessing a man can receive. I live each day looking forward to being with my son and daughter. I don't think you'll be even a little disappointed with the experience. Though if your wife was a merc, you should be a bit wary. A mother becomes a very dangerous creature indeed if she thinks her babies are threatened. I can only imagine how much worse it'd be with someone already used to being aggressive." He chuckled quietly. "My Alethia is a kind and gentle soul, but even she scares me when she's feeling protective."

[Devon]

Darin smiled at that and took a sip of his own drink. "I am looking forward to it, I can't wait to see whether she gives me a son or a daughter." Chuckling he put his drink down and grimaced at the thought of an even more aggressive Pandora. "I'll have to make sure she isn't carrying a knife when she goes into labor, she might just stab me."

[Kender Bard]

Talon laughed in amusement at that. "I learned my lesson," he chuckled. "The second time around, I was all the way in Ronduin." Though he grinned at his little joke, there was just a touch of sadness in his eyes - he still regretted missing the birth of his daughter. "When do you expect to become a father?"

[Devon]

"In a few weeks actually," he said slowly. "I don't want to miss it and honestly I probably shouldn't have taken this job, but I thought that if we had the extra money I wouldn't have to work when she needed me around the house for her and the baby. Its another reason I want to get back at Hector for lying, if I had known he was making things up I'd be in Ronduin right now."

[Kender Bard]

"What exactly did he tell you?" Talon asked curiously. "I've never heard of the man. I don't like the idea that he's been watching me or spying on me. I haven't done anything to piss anyone off that I'm aware of."

[Devon]

"He told me you killed his brother in Maelstrom," he replied. "It sounded a bit fishy since he didn't even go to the guards in Maelstrom for help and the fact that he wants you captured alive seems even weirder. And he didn't know your name, he just said you wore bright clothes."

Slipping in just after her brother, hidden from a casual glance between Echo and Mat, Acqua takes a seat nearby to keep a subtle eye on her brother. Of course, she also uses the time to catch up on Guild gossip and to fuss over Echo's baby daughter while Echo holds her son.

"You really should spend more time with us Kitten," Echo comments with a smile. "Things will get interresting soon." Both Acqua and Mat look at their leader with interrest, but the Cat-affinity refuses to say anything else.

"Tease," Acqua laughs softly, sipping her drink.

[Kender Bard]

"Methinks I've been set up," Talon snorted, and took another gulp. "Perhaps he just picked me out of a crowd. Coincidental, and incredibly so, but not impossible...." He looked thoughtfully at his glass. "I wish I knew what his motive was."

[Devon]

"Care to find out?" Darin asked with a sly grin. "We duck out the back of the bar, head to the meeting place, see what he wanted and bust his head in when we find out. I hate to sound like such a brute, but if I miss the birth of my son he'll have to die."

[Kender Bard]

Talon fidgeted uneasily. "I think I would like to help you, but not tonight. I did promise my wife to spend the festival with her. Tomorrow... maybe. You can wait a day, right?"

[Devon]

Darin nodded and replied, " I can wait a day easily." Finishing his drink he thought for a moment more and then looked to Talon. "Say, can you help me with something else? My wife wants me to bring her back some sort of gift and I have no idea what to get her."

[Kender Bard]

Talon grinned widely - this was more his area. "Ah, well! What kind of things does your wife like? What kind of lady is she?" He rubbed his hands as he thought with almost longing of browsing the markets and feasting his eyes on the wares.

[Devon]

Darin tapped his chin in thought before answering Talon's question. "Well she used to be a thief, she likes weapons, and she is a Beast, snake-affinity."
