[Kender Bard]

Brawn flashed Bionca a wide smile as he held the door open for her to his small, commoner-class home. "It's not much," he admitted. "But it's home."

A chorus of shouts issued forth from the home, the sound of two boys and a girl in some sort of arguement.

Brawn winced. "Just... one moment," he muttered and swiftly headed inside. "You kids behave! We have a guest!"

The argument dissolved into a moment of quiet and then giggles. Brawn returned. "Sorry," he mumbled with a scarlet blush. "Come on in."

Bionca, once he had headed inside to calm the arguement, had tried to peek into the house, but was unsuccesful as he came out relatively soon afterwards. "Oh, it's okay," she said with a smile.

Folding her hands behind her back, she came into the house and took her first look around.

The first room was more or less the kitchen - it was kept as spotless as a large family's home could be and a woman very near to Brawn's age was busy scrubbing the counters with a much-used rag. When she saw Brawn enter she rose and embraced him warmly, kissing his cheek as a wife would greet her husband, but it was obvious the great love between these two individuals was of a different nature as Brawn smiled and pat her head softly.

"Sissy, I want you to meet my matron, Bionca," he said, and stepped aside. "Bionca, this is my sister, Teselia. But we call her Sissy."

Sissy beamed and dropped into a little curtsy before Bionca. "Oh, a pleasure to meet you. Bro has said much about you since you offered to get him into the guild. I can't thank you enough on behalf of the younger ones! You will be staying for dinner, yes?"

Bionca couldn't help but to smile. "Um, yes, Brawn did invite me and it would be rude to have not accepted." She looked down at the floor and then back up and nodded. "I am very proud to help your brother."

Tilting her head, she added with a laugh, "It is a great honor to help such a talented one...."

"He is talented, isn't he?" Sissy cooed and slipped an arm around Brawn affectionately. "Mom and Dad were always worried he'd break his neck. Now I am." She tickled his sides lightly, causing him to writhe with giggles and blush brightly when she relented. "Why don't you show her to the family? The twins are out right now, of course, but the other three are here as you know."

"Okay," Brawn chuckled and headed to the sitting room, crammed tight with furniture, where a younger girl was trying to read while her noisy two brothers argued quietly over a scrap of parchment. "Boys, behave. "

"Yes Bro," they chimed automatically and looked up. Seeing Bionca, Teck grinned and winked at her and Bonner blinked rapidly a couple times.

"These are the next youngest," Brawn explained. "In birth order, there's Teck, Tender, and Bonner."

Teck waggled his fingers at Bionca and laughed softly. Bonner fidgeted a bit and averted his eyes while Tender looked up and tried to assume an air of royalty as she nodded very slightly in Bionca's direction. "Greetings and welcome to our abode," she said, her voice surprisingly devoid of much of the commoner dialect.

Bionca was surprised and then greeted each of them in turn by the order Brawn gave them. "Hello, Teck," she said, giving him a smile and a hand shake.

Turning to the girl, she inclined her own head, "Hello, young Miss Tender."

Then, once again, she offered her hand to Bonner, "Hello, there," she paused and took a moment to stand and smile at all of them. "It is such a pleasure to meet you!"

Brawn quickly introduced Bionca again as his matron and the three seemed to take a renewed interest.

"So what made you think Brawn was worth spending money on?" Teck inquired. Bonner shoved him in the shoulder roughly.

"Don't ask stupid questions like that!" he hissed. "It's because Brawn is great."

Teck shoved his brother back. "I can ask whatever I want."

Tender sniffed derisively at the two of them. "Such barbaric behavior is not becoming of two young men." They, of course, ignored her.

"My family," Brawn chuckled nervously.

Looking at Brawn, she smiled and the found a little chair that she could seat herself on; once she was seated, she said, ignoring the questions for a moment, "I think your family is great, they all have such promising looks to them."

Then, returning her attention to the kids, she answered Teck very calmly, although she took in Bonner's comment too. "I am helping him because I told him I was going to. Taking no for an answer was not something I was going to stand for," taking a deep breath, she continued. "In a way, Bonner, you are right. Your brother is remarkable and that is what drew me."

With another smile, she looked at Tender, "And," Bionca said, directing this to her, "He was quite gentlemanly, too."

Brawn's blush grew brighter, though he didn't think it was possible. The younger boys grinned a moment before dissolving into laughter. Tender sniffed again but smiled politely at Bionca.

"That's good," she said, flashing her bright, loving eyes at Brawn and smiling wider. "He and Winger are the best of the unruly boys. I can see a true lady such as yourself will be a marvelous influence on him."

"Ah," she laughed and shook her head. "I don't honostly know how long I will be here, but, I hope to remain for as many days as I can."

She paused she study Brawn and then to look back at Tender, "Again, though, if I do remain here, I will teach him as best as I can...well, maybe not that, but I will ensure that he can get into the guild."

"You've done so much," Brawn murmured. Though she said something that made him pause and think - leaving? She was... possibly leaving?

"Dinner's ready!" Sissy called from the kitchen. "A celebratory pot roast tonight!"

"Yay!" the three children cheered with genuine enthusiasm as they all rose up and hurried into the kitchen. Even Tender lost her assumed grace in the hurry for a good, hearty meal. It made Brawn's day to see them so happy.

"I hope you like it," he mentioned to Bionca while heading back to the kitchen where everyone was washing their hands and face in the family basin. "Sissy is a marvelous cook."

"Oh, no I'm not," she laughed as she set a basket of rolls on the table.

Bionca sniffed at the air and her stomach made a soft growling sound. Blinking, she laughed and said, "Oh, it smells certainly good. If I could fill up smells alone, I think that I would be full."

Looking at the chairs surrounding the table, she found herself wondering where she should sit, and then, wound up asking something else entirely different. "Oh! Where is Streak? and...Winger?" She frowned at the second name she added, if only because she had only heard it mentioned moments before.

"Off being kids," Brawn chuckled and found an extra seat from the living room, which he brought to the table and sat down for Bionca. "They'll be here soon I ex-"

And right on cue, the twin boys arrived. Streak dashed in as though his hair was on fire and Winger did his best to follow, puffing a little from the exertion.

"Boys, behave," Brawn ordered, a common litany in the household. They started to sit down until Sissy rapped them both with her large wooden spoon.

"Go wash!" she ordered. "And say hello to Miss Bionca."

"Hello again!" Streak called out as he went and washed up. Winger just smiled shyly at her and did the same. The similarities between the boys were obvious but they were not identical - Winger wore a pair of large, wire rimmed spectacles and he looked merely bony and gangly whereas Streak seemed to be lean and fit. Winger also sported a pair of wings, looking fully grown but which occasionally shivered from still-forming muscles.

Having begun to get seated when the boys rushed in, she blinked in honest surprise and stood back up again, watching them try to sit, get ordered off and the run from the room. Raising a hand to the spot where they had been, she greeted them a little late.

"Rambunctious, aren't they?"

"They are all," Brawn replied wryly. "But the twins are the worst."

"Don't lump me in with him!" Winger protested as he took his seat again by Streak. Sissy began to pass around the main dishes. The food made a circuit around the entire table before being sat down in the middle of the table.

"I hope you don't mind if we say our dinner-prayer," Sissy remarked. "We are followers of Efil."
