Rajani felt in an unusually light and cheery mood as she skipped and hummed to herself when she felt no one was watching, bringing her enthusiasm down to a simmer as she approached the throne room. "Nissar!" she called out, trying to retain her grace, though it was increasingly difficult these days.

"Ah haha," she laughed gaily. "Cannot I be content in the day? I have received word that our messenger died as he should have, and in front of a whole audience none the less." She smiled and strode straight up to the throne with all the dignity and majesty she could muster. "Are you busy?"
Pleased with his admission she came and sat at his feet, gently resting her head on his lap as she gazed up at him with what anyone not in Morilanta would call a loving gaze. "Aye. And what's more, we have recently gained an invaluable ally." She reached for his hand to stroke idly. "The reason for my good mood, partly. A noble of Anarlina wishes to aid us. For a price of course, but he was content to cling to my empty promises for now. I wished not to speak long with him, for he is a double mind, and best left to you."
"I see. That is an intriguing development." He strokes her hair almost like a favored pet as he considers how to proceed while juggling many of the other issues that require his attention. "We should be on the look out for any allied with Anarlina to attempt to exact vengence or infiltrate our land for what we have done, we need to prepare contingencies for the worst case scenarios."
Rajani smiled, nuzzling her cheeks against his knee, playing into the role he put her in easily and comfortably. "I have already sent him back home, to come another day. We have much to do, and he is eager enough that we need not deal with him right away." Drawing herself up, she braced herself to either side of him, smirking almost lazily. "Soon I won't be able to assist you so closely in matters."
Rajani turned somber eyes up at her lord. Generally, she keeps careful to maintain the appearance of personal strength. Today was not a good day for appearances, however, for the strange mood that had her in her grips softened her considerably. "Would you protect me, Nissar?" she whispered, giving him a scrutinizing, piercing stare.
Feeling that much more secure and comfortable, Rajani allowed herself to snuggle into his embrace. "And in exchange, my lord, all your plans will come to fruitation soon." She kissed him sweetly though some of her sunny disposition was beginning to melt away, replaced by a faint look of discomfort and pain which was ignored, save for the lightest of grimaces. "How long should we wait for the delivery of the priestess?"
Nissar closes his eyes in thought as he continued to pet her. "In two weeks if we receive no word that she is being delivered, we will strike once again...but perhaps there may be a way to have some of the royal family themselves choose who is to die. If we could arrange for some pages from the Notations of Death to be placed among some important documents that require them to write names of people they know, for whatever reason."

"Mmm deliciously thought," Rajani purred into Nissar's ear. "Do you think we could dress it up and make it look like a final warning? That if they didn't want to send anyone, they must sign as a family and send it back?"
Nissar shakes his head. "That does hold appeal, but I do not want to do to much to reveal the nature behind how we killed the messenger. Also killing the royal family with the book is something that spirit warned against."

"All right," Rajani sighed. "We will deliberate more on it later." She nestled against him cozily as she considered alternative uses of the book. "Mayhaps we should remind them of what we are capable of before their allotted time is up. I could meet with our new pet spy and receive information concerning a servant or friend of theirs who is expendable, and we could kill them."
