"Wing? Feather? Sparrow?" Alexi asked dryly. "Eagle? Hawk? Mockingbird? Quail? Claw? I need a little more here, man."

"Claw is closer," the man drawled. He didn't want to confirm any name - he might not get any goods that way. But if he had to... ah, what's birdlike and clawlike.. oh yes. "Talon?" he suggested tentatively. "Perhaps."

Alexi studied Hector, suspicion slipping into the edge of his mind. The information the man was giving was too vague: People who seriously wanted someone caught usually tried to be as detailed as possible. Even if they had met only once, Hector should have been able to tell how tall this Talon was, what the color of his eyes were, how his face was structured, or what his build was like. "Average" just didn't cut it.

That, and Alexi had the feeling the man was pulling the story out of his ass, now that he had the chance to think on it. Hector had not displayed many classic signs of lying, instead being quite a composed individual, but he had not actually looked at Alexi straight on in the time they had been speaking: His eyes kept drifting up towards the right.

Alexi moved his left leg, as if stretching. "You know what?" he inquired, as if he were going to accept the job. Then his foot lashed out, hooking around one of the chair's legs and jerking it and Hector forward so Alexi could grab Hector's neck and right forearm in tight holds while both feet landed on the other's. "I think you've been feeding me bulls--t ever since you got here," he snarled, giving the visitor a shake. "Tell me what you're really after, and I'll consider not throwing you to the mercies of the desert without your horse, your rations, or your water."

Hector squirmed in Alexi's grip, trying to get free desperately. "Okayokay!" He gasped nervously. "I just wanted you to get this guy I owed a debt to! Please! Don't kill me!"

"I still don't believe you," Alexi said sweetly. "You just cost yourself your horse. Last try, buddy."

"Fine, don't believe me!" Hector snarled and tried to elbow Alexi in an attempt to wriggle free. "Fucking horse thief! Fucking savage! Give me my damn things and Taed take the lot of you!"

Alexi moved his feet and stood up, bringing Hector with him, and spun the other man around. The arm he held was yanked behind Hector's back, while Alexi's free hand went around the noble's neck. "March," he growled, and forced his "visitor" from the tent, steering him towards the simple rope pen that held Ghara, Kallsu, Lars, and now Clever. "Uncle!"

Malcamon looked up from the leather water tank he had been checking. "What?"

"Get this guy's food and water. He's leaving," Alexi ordered. "But don't bring his horse."

Understanding somewhat, Malcamon went to where he had left Clever's saddle, grabbing the supplies and jogging after his nephew, who was taking Hector outside the camp.

A good shove sent Hector sprawling outside the boundaries; his ration bags were tossed after him a beat later. "Get lost," Alexi commanded in a dangerous voice, "and if you ever come back, I'll snap your neck. Whether or not you're alive to feel the pain afterwards will depend on my mood."
