[Kender Bard]

Charminei approached Flare warily, hefting the heavy pack that contained her clan's gifts to the Elder of Flare. Now if only she could find him without getting hurt.

[Devon]

A scout for Clan Flare spotted Charminei from a distant and ran off to inform the leader of the clan, so he could prepare for her arrival. As Charminei neared the camp, two guards approached her. The one on the right was the first to speak. "Hold here, Joash will arrive shortly." After a few moments Joash arrived. He was brown toned man with short hair and hazel eyes. He stood at about 6'0 with broad shoulders a medium, though muscled build. Jerking his head back towards their post, Joash signaled for his guards to back away as he spoke. "I'm Joash the leader of Clan Flare, I believe you are one of the elders of Clan Char."

[Kender Bard]

Charminei dismounted and gave a theatrical bow. "You would be correct. I am Elder Charminei of Clan Char. It is an honor to make your acquaintance. As per tradition and all that, I brought you a gift of dinner." She unslung the pack and opened it up, reaching in and pulling out the hefty haunch of freshly hunted meet, wrapped in doeskin to keep it fresh and from dripping on everything. "I hope you accept this token of our good will."

[Devon]

Joash reached for the gift and bowed his head in thanks. "Thank you, it is appreciated." Joash stood up straight, his hoop shaped earring dangling as he moved his head. "Will you be staying for a visit or are you leaving now? You are welcome to stay."

[Kender Bard]

"I'd like to stay and observe your clan a little," Charminei agreed. "Is it true you are from Pyre?"

[Devon]

Joash had one of the guards come and take care of Charminei's horse as he led her into the Clan's grounds. "It's true most of us we from Pyre. No offense to you, but I and my clan would have been unhappy being divided up that way."

[Kender Bard]

"Then it makes sense that you are starting anew," Charminei agreed. "I just hope that you hold no animosity towards Char for our actions - after all, it is the nature of things. And you did get an Eldership of your own clan out of it."

[Devon]

"I don't blame Char for anything," Joash said. "Besides I was always unhappy with the leadership in Pyre if you hadn't of come along I'd probably have taken over there." Joash led her to his hut so that she could have a seat, in case she would be uncomfortable he left the door open.

[Kender Bard]

Charminei accepted the seat and gazed out at the people going about their business. "May I inquire if there's anything in particular you changed from Pyre?"

[Devon]

Joash takes a seat as well, placing his hands on his knees. "We're a bit more open than Pyre was. Accepting wandering Fires is one thing, but I don't mind what type of elemental comes here. I'm a half-breed myself, Earth and Fire."

[Kender Bard]

"There's nothing wrong with half breeds," Charminei agreed firmly, the man rising in her estimation a notch. "My own husband is a Fire-Storm in fact. Fire-Earth, hmm, that's rather rare though. Well... not rare but certainly not as common."

[Devon]

Joash nodded, his own opinion of Clan Char rising. "Yes, I've been told that. I think it is a pretty interesting combination given where we all live."

[Kender Bard]

Charminei smiled and did not mention her own mixed heritage. "What are your thoughts on the other clans? Fira and Linnod."

[Devon]

"I respect them," Joash started. "But I do not know too much about them. I hope we can all get along, but there is bound to be some disagreements in this desert of ours."

[Deleted]

"Hey babe," someone called from outside, and Alexi came in without knocking, looking slightly frazzled. "Sorry, didn't mean to fall so far behind when Lars picked up that rock." He bent over to kiss his wife, then offered his hand to Joash. "Elder Alexian Black of Char. Call me Alexi. Mind if I sit?" he asked without preamble.
