So far, only seven of Kurai's soldiers, Raxus included, had returned to Flux, but the important thing was keeping Zephyr Heights under control. At least the quality of the food and drink had improved so far.
This was the scene Kurai and Khao, weary from new motherhood, returned to, and were greeted almost ecstatically. Raxus immediately gave a report on the takeover of Zephyr Heights, and grinned as his mistress praised him.
However, Kurai was distracted; having made one sacrifice, there was another she had to make. Almost absently, she gave Raxus leave to do as he pleased for the rest of the afternoon, brushing off the news of Arcan until later.

Almost as though a greater power timed it, the gates of Flux open at that moment, allowing a single rider to exit through the gate. If one has keen enough eyesight, they will notice that he has smoke colored wings on his back, just like Arcan.

Arcan looks towards the gates with a stirring of interest, having lost his curiosity once he saw them and how little the activity there was around it. Now that he saw who rode through, he gave a loud yip of surprise and ran forward. "Tev! Tev!! Tevran!!!"
The figure on the horse paused and looked up curiously at Arcan and thrust a hand out, throwing a fireball at Arcan to barely miss him. "You will cease your charge and state your business. This is your only warning."
Tevran stared at Arcan curiously for a moment before his expression becomes neutral. "I do not know who this Tevran is or why you look for him. I am Wildfire and I have no interest in your search. Begone from me now."

"T-t-tevran," Arcan whimpered, and moved forward, crawled on his hands and knees, wings flat and tips dragging in the dirt as he looked beggingly up at Tevran. All boldness, brashness, and hostility was momentarily banished from the Outcast Warrior as he abased himself before he beloved kin. "Please.. Tev.. Please... Don't do this to me, I was so worried."
(Only actually identified him as Tevran for the sake of others OOC)
Wildfire looked down at Arcan and for a second, his face took on a sad look and he opened his mouth before suddenly his face twists in a mix of hatred and pain before pulling on the horse's bit to make it rear up and lands it's hooves right next to Arcan. "Do not trouble me any longer!" Wildfire growls at him while breathing heavily. "Or your blood will be added to the mortar of Morilanta." With that he kicks the sides of the horse and takes off, just narrowly missing trampling Arcan.

Arcan remained on the ground, shaking. He lowered his head until his forehead touched the ground and allowed himself a rare few tears before he tore the emotion up within him, turning it, as he did with so much, as only fuel for his inner fire. With a cry of anguish he flew into a rage. There was very little around except for the army to attack, but he wasn't so far gone as to pull off something so suicidal. Finding an emaciated skeleton of a tree, he attacked with a fury, clawing with his sharpened nails, gnawed on a limb, and set it alight in a great blaze before he finally spent himself and sank back to the ground, panting, sweating, and cursing.

Kurai was not much of a telepath; she could not influence the minds of others well at all. Her telepathy was geared towards guarding her own consciousness. But it was no difficult thing to touch an infant's mind and will it to sleep.
Kurai took off her left gauntlet and pricked the skin of her wrist, near the scar she had blackened with soot in the healing ointment she had employed years ago. Five drops of blood, only five, landed on the sleeping babe, and the Mind lifted her arms to the sky.
"Force of Chaos, Force of Change, Force of Madness, powers range, I call for you to hear my plea: Take the gift and leave me free With power enough to take this land And lead it into Evil's hand. Darkness rise! Let this world fall! Help me find the strength To do it all! Blood of an innocent, all for you, Lord Soahc, just as your brother, Lord Taed, gained the blood of this one's sibling."

Andromeda watched this ritual and shuddered, revulsion squirming in her gut like a vile worm.
Did I ever look at these rituals and not flinch? she thought to herself. Was I ever so bloody as this one?
Her thoughts disturbing her, she started to move off until her eyes spotted Arcan, sulking and cursing under the ruin of the tree. She gave a startled gasp and, stealth abandoned, rose up and dashed for him. "Oh! Arcan!!"
Arcan's head snapped up. "Mom?" He picked himself up, and went to greet his tearful mother, the two embracing tightly.
"Where are we?" she asked. He shrugged and pointed towards Kurai.
"Her army," he said by way of explanation. Andromeda flattened her wings a little fearfully against her back and looked back at the one she'd condemned.

"I'd like to know what you are doing sneaking around my altar, woman," Kurai said frigidly, having left her ritual to follow the gasp she had heard. Hand on her hip, touching her signs together, she "yanked" Arcan and Andromeda a couple of feet towards her. "What is your business here?"

Kurai lifted an eyebrow. "So arrogant," she said coolly. "What if I don't want you around?" The blades in her gauntlets were deployed and she examined them almost casually. "I could drive you both out to soothe my temper; I don't take people spying on my rituals lightly. Or," Kurai flicked her blades' points towards the ground, "if you knelt and asked for shelter politely, I might let you stay."
