[Kender Bard]

The figure stepped forward, light illuminating a womanly figure, but one sculpted with toned, strong muscles.

The woman also had grey fur running over most of her body, and a lupine muzzle. She regarded Tiamet curiously. "I am me. Who are you?"

Tiamet was uncertain, as the woman's answer puzzled him. Rather than dwell on this, however, he decided to exploit any potential he could find to hear her name.
"I am Tiamet Lunos. To what do I owe the occasion, Me?"

[Kender Bard]

The woman broke into a great laugh at his comment. "I suppose that would be the proper thing to say!" She stroked her chin and regarded with a thoughtful smile. "I like you, Tiamet Lunos. You do not have the look of a Storm about you, however. Where are you from?"

[shrikeswind]

"I think Humontis. It's been a long time since I've been home. As for you?"

[Kender Bard]

"Around," she said vaguely, motioning. "All over the world. Humontis, mm? Are you part Earth or all Beast?"

[shrikeswind]

"Part Earth. What about you?"

[Kender Bard]

"A little of everything," the woman laughed, deep and strangely masculine. "So, Earth-Beast, what causes you to roam the world?"

[shrikeswind]

"Conflicts," he said. He wasn't too sure how much he should reveal, unsure what the woman meant by her being "A little of everything." "I don't like getting into details."

[Kender Bard]

The woman stepped closer, still smiling faintly. "You can trust me," she said softly, and there was an overpowering desire to tell her that welled up in Tiamet...

((Sorry, don't mean to godmode but it's something of a Force compulsion effect to get mortals to talk to them when they seem to be clamming up.))

Tiamet pondered for a moment whether to tell her anything. Everything about this woman seemed wrong, and his thoughts were scrambled. His concious mind was telling him "Say it all, she's harmless," but his instinct was saying "Not a word, she's dangerous." Tiamet tried to resist, but he eventually poured it all out.
"I ran away from home because my father was an ogre." He scratched the back of his right leg with his foot. "After some time, I found myself in Khelek, but after trouble with plans for my future, I left there to gather everything I needed to allow my plans to fall into effect, if at all possible."

[Kender Bard]

The woman came closer, her lupine eyes soft where everything else about her was very hard.

She crossed her arms and looked down her muzzle at him, as though considering something. "What plans for the future?"

Tiamet gave no sign, but inside, he flinched. Not a question he was used to, and this woman kept making him feel more and more uneasy. He tried to stop himself again, but as before he rattled on.
"I feel in love with a girl and we were engaged to be married. However, between the two of us, we realized how our plans were faulty. She wasn't willing to marry me if I couldn't face my past, I wasn't willing to marry her if she couldn't be counted on to do things, and the both of us wanted to have a family, but she being an Ice, problems arose. We decided to remedy these problems if possible, so I was to leave and she was to wait for me so that I could face my past and find any way we could overcome our...ahem...incapacity. We agreed that she would meet me in a cave to wait for me for two days each month to ensure her reliability."

[Kender Bard]

"A mighty test indeed," the Beast woman agreed. "Just remember that by overcoming our faults, we become ever stronger and able to face new obstacles. Your endeavor to do just this is touching. I don't think you need to worry about having a family."

She flashed a fangy smile. "I believe that's one hurdle you've overcome. Trust me. I would know." She winked and abruptly dashed off into the forest, faster than should be humanly possible as Gareth came trekking back with Scylla in his arms.

Tiamet cocked his left ear in confusion.
"Well that was strange."

[Kender Bard]

"What was?" Gareth asked as he walked up, patting his companion on the head. "I'm sorry I ran off. She's never done anything like that before."
