Twilight approached Ekaitz with much wariness. He wasn't sure how one came to a group of hostile Storms. Why do the silly Narutans have to group by element? he thought, and sighed. But he kept walking and called out when he was within earshot, "I give you greetings, Ekaitz!"

Word of the new arrival came to Mathew and Sombra swiftly, as important events always did. "This is a trap," was Sombra's first comment. "They know about your pet." Mathew snorted.
"Shadow doesn't have the wit for clever schemes. He would send an army, or himself, not a single man, we will hear him out." Mathew nods to the slave who brought the news. "Bring him before me." The slave flees to the gate and, trembling, bows to Twilight.
"My ma-master bids you to c-come with m-me," he stutters.

Twilight idly touched his circlet. He'd checked that it was covering his Water sign earlier and hoped it still was. Now all he had to do was hope word of details about him had not reached his far. "Of course," he said, and also adjusts his fine clothing. He was here to impress. In case anyone was looking, he leered at the slave as though annoyed that he was not already before Mathew.

The slave shivers a little and hurries towards Mathew's mansion, leading the way into the sitting room. "P-please m-m-make yours-s-s-self com-comfortable," he tells Twilight, hurrying away.
After leaving Twilight to wait for a few minutes, Mathew and Sombra, dressed equally finely, stroll into the sitting room. "Greetings," Mathew says. "Prince Twilight? Or is it Prince Sunray? I'm afraid news in Maelstrom tends to become a little... jumbled by the time I hear it."

"King Twilight," he corrects. "My brother is also supposedly King but is a mere puppet of my design. The ignorant masses like him better than me." He flashed a smile without humor. "I can only wonder why. And you are Lord Mathew I presume?"
Jaffar stands outside of Matthew's door with Acqua beside him and knocks forcefully. Turning to Acqua he mutters, "Be on your best behavior. No need to get your pretty little face scarred over something stupid."
This is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friend. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue singing it forever just because. *repeat for eternity*

Acqua casts Jaffar a dark look. "I seriously doubt my behaviour would matter," she spits. "I'll deal with this little family reunion as I please."
Hearing the knock, Mathew raises a finger to Twilight. "Hold that question for a moment? I do believe this might be a delievery I've been expecting. He smiles as Jaffar is lead into the room, Acqua reluctently following him. "Ah, Jaffar, I see you managed to bring me the girl at least." He looks Acqua over with a cold smile.
"Paint a portrait, Uncle, if you're so desperate to stare at me," Acqua quips. Mathew scowls, getting to his feet and slapping Acqua across the face.
"Insolent little..." he hisses, then takes a breath to calm himself. "I see my wayward nephew is still encouraging your behaviour child. Nevermind, you'll be dealt with soon enough." He gestures to a chair. "Jaffar, I have business to attend to. Restrain my nephew's ward over there and gag the brat. Have one of the slaves fetch your payment and then go to Lady Remi and tell her I will see her later this evening." Turning back to Twilight, Mathew takes his seat again. "My apologies for the interruption. Please, ignore the girl and go on."
Acqua stares at Twilight, dimmly reconising him as one of the residents of the King's palace, even if she doesn't know him by name.

Twilight didn't even spare Acqua a glance. She was ornamentation, an object, not worthy of his notice. "Maelstrom withers of course," he went on his rich, courtly voice. "The few remaining nobles must sorely be rueing their decision as peasants run amok, destroying what dignity is left. I'm not afraid to profess, I think it's shameful. And what's more shameful is that the jester-king and his slut wife dare to give us but a sliver of land in some Force-damned crevice in the mountain to call our new home." He steepled his fingers and stared at Mathew with half lidded eyes.
"I think that Maelstrom or Talen'sul proper would be more fitting. I thought to myself, 'Who could prove a useful ally and a congenital neighbor?' and of course immediately thought of you." He flashed another mirthless smirk. "You have the strength, combined with mine, to prize Shadow out of his home and cast his hellbride with him. That's quite a lot of land.. we could split the lands between us perhaps."

Mathew looks consideringly at Twilight, thinking over the other man's words. "An interresting proposal," he murmurs. "I have no interrest in Talen'sul, except as a parasite that must be cut off to prevent it draining Maelstrom of life." Mathew pauses, pretending to give the matter more thought. "I could see to rewarding our new ally with the broken city of the Winds," he lies, settling back in his chair. "No doubt the remaining nobles will flock back to us," he comments and gestures at Acqua. "When a gutter-rat like this is given nobility, it must be taken as a sign that Shadow is a fool. I shouldn't be surprised to hear Shadow has declared his horse to be his Heir next... although perhaps that would be an improvement over his little half-breed mistake. And speaking of half-breeds... I hear rumors that the half-breed, Calder, is attempting yet again to rise even farther above his proper station..."

"We would never allow a mere peasant to rise above his station as far as he has," Twilight muttered, pouring every ounce of disgruntlement towards Flash and magnifying it. "But you are right, Shadow HAS allowed the dirt to rise to the sky, as it were. However, I have made it a point in my spying on the man to discover you have his brother?" He chuckled, a low, menacing sound, perfected in the shadows of Morilanta. "That is quite a convenient and delicious way to keep the man in check. He hasn't had time to plot amidst all his pitiful moping. I trust you have had the man killed and are only stringing the fool along?"

Mathew snorts. "Saph Calder is worth more alive then dead," he chuckles. "He's a good source of venting for my men, saves time in replacing and training new slaves to throw the men a whipping boy." Acqua's eyes narrow as she listens, ignored by both Twilight and Mathew for the time being. With a cold laugh, Mathew adds, "The weakling has, I admit, lasted longer then I thought, although I'm thinking of tossing him outside and setting loose the dogs. Considering his current state, it'd be a kindness."

"How utterly merciful of you," Twilight chuckled. "Well since you are interested in an alliance, perhaps you would allow me to stay a little while so I could outline a few plans that would best utilize our combined strength. I've told everyone that I am off wining and dining abroad. They all think I'm a waif so I shant be expected home by anyone except my agents and personal guards for at least a two weeks. The latter is another matter of course."

Mathew looks consideringly at Twilight for a long moment, then nods. "Very well, I'll see that a guest room is made up for you," he agrees, reaching out to ring a small bell. Within moments, a slave enters the room, eyes lowered. "See that a room is made up for my guest," Mathew orders.
"Yes master," the slave says softly. His eyes dart to Acqua and he adds, "Do you wish a cell for the girl, Master?"
"If I wanted one, I'd tell you," Mathew replies sharply. "The girl won't be here long enough to need one." That wasn't what Acqua was expecting and surprise and fear cross the girl's face, making Mathew chuckle. The slave merely bows and hurries out of the room.
(I'm going to assume Jaffar did as told and has left, so feel free to bring in your slaver noble at any time sis.)

Raimi glided in, as well as a woman of her size could glide. She looked around, giving Acqua a mildly disgusted look, and Twilight one of open curiosity.
"Who is this?" she asked, eyeing Twilight.
Twilight bowed his head slightly, never taking his own eyes off of her. "King Twilight of former Contrasta." When Raimi didn't make any other movement or comment, he added softly, "Oh don't bow on my behalf. I wouldn't want your girdle to snap under the pressure."
Riled, Raimi glared, then looked at Mathew, momentarily hostilely until she realized that would be a bad thing to do and got her temper in check.
