Another day, another delivery...|Naurorod

[Devon]

Eric grins and darts off into the air after Qwynh, letting his wings spread wide as he soared through the sky. Taking in a deep breath , he smiled and looked over to his bat companion. "It sure is. Lead the way boss!"

[Toyoll]

Qwynh nodded, angled her wings, heading north-west.

The air felt good at it filled her wings and rushed past her face and belly, the bat had even managed to forget her brush with the wyrm...

Soon, they came upon the ruins of Clan Flare. Guilt manifested in Qwynhs gut as she began her slow decent. Looking over at Eric, who was a marvelous companion, the poor girl smiled meekly, "This is our stop..."

[Devon]

Eric looked down at the ruins, and slowly his smile faded. Nodding to Qwynh, Eric veers left and starts his descent down to the ground.

[Toyoll]

With two or three powerful backdrafts, Qwynh alighted onto the earth. All around them was a ghost town, the delivery girl's first terrifying thought was that she might have gotten the address wrong. She looked at the tag, no, it was right. She cast a net of sound, nothing but buildings returned to her, echoes blazing silver in her mind's eye.

Anger suddenly welt up inside her, was this some kind of sick joke? "Hello? Is anyone here?" she called out, a little more forcefully than she had intended.

[Devon]

Eric lands beside Qwynh and glances around the area uneasily. He almost had to wonder if Qwynh was just playing with him, but looking at her face he realized she was just as confused as he was about this place. "I don't think there is anyone here Qwynh.."

[Toyoll]

Qwynh had to swallow a sob, how cruel! She knew how much grief she had caused leading the wyrm this way! She shared that grief, it always laid there in the back of her mind, haunting her dreams. Was this some kind of twisted punishment?

She called out again, "Hello?!!" Qwynh desperately sent forth a barrage of echoes, hoping fo anyone, anything, to respond. Suddenly, a flash of silver movement snagged in her ears, "Wait!"

Not able to run efficiently, the bat spread her wings and took off only a few feet from the ground and darted after the movement.

[Devon]

Eric hangs his head low while she shouts out, but catching sight of the quick silver movement he follows after Qwynh hoping not to lose either her or whatever it was that ran by them.

Qwynh came to a stumbling halt, having to dig her foreclaws into the earth to slow her down. A little dog, a small companion breed, walked up to it's master, curly, silver fur flashed in the sun.

It was an older man, his arm was poorly dressed and blood from what once must have been a severe wound leaked through the bandages. "Sorry.....I can't hear so much 'nymore." he croaked gruffly.

Qwynh recomposed herself, feeling she must be more respectful towards this veteran. "I-I'm sorry sir. Um...Th..This wouldn't be for you would it?" she half-heartedly indicated the package in her sack.

"..Come 'ere. I can't see so good neither."

But Qwynh was weary. A wide traveller, she knew better than to naïvely walk up to strangers.

[Devon]

Eric comes up behind Qwynh and stares at the elderly man and his dog. Holding his head up high, he taps Qwynh on the shoulder. "May I take it too him. I do need practice with delivery anyway." He was a little cautious about he situation, the old man looked harmless, but so did a lot of things in there world. At least there were two of them and one of him.

[Toyoll]

Qwynh blinked, quickly considering the situation, then nodded and gently handed the package to Eric. She couldn't help but to hurriedly whisper some tips to him, "Remember, be courteous and tell him who it's from and who you are, oh!, a-and tell him it'll cost 12 copper!"

The old man haddn't taken his poor eyes off the two. The little dog jumped onto his lap and the Fire absently began to sratch his companion, waiting for the parcel.

[Devon]

Eric checks the parcel to see who it is from as he walks over to the elderly man. Holding package out to the Fire, Eric bows and tries to be courteous. "Um..Hello I'm Eric, this is for you and um..it will be 12 copper."

[Toyoll]

The old man smirked at Eric, "12 copper? Yer killin' me...." he said dryly, "Take it, I've got no use for it out here...." The old Fire rudely shoved the copper into the Beast's hands. "Now, take yer friend and git out of here before I roast yer furry arses....."

The small dog snarled at them, oddly enough, it was marginally intimidating.

Qwynh was all for leaving, she was already unfurling her wings. The bat felt bad for Eric, this was his first delivery and it wasn't the most pleasent customer. But one must be tolerant, "Thank you for your patronage, sir!" Qwynh bowed low, then lept up and took wing.

[Devon]

Eric took the money and backed up in haste. "Uh. Thank you for your patronage sir," Eric mumbled to the man, then quickly flew after Qwynh. "Qwynh are all the customers as mean as this one was?"

[Toyoll]

Qwynh shook her russet muzzle, "Not usually, no. I'm sorry you had to handle that." she said with another appolegetic smile.

She brought her wings down harder, pushing her faster, "But I'm sure the next delivery will be more plesant! C'mon! Ilyamen's the home base, there's nearly always someone who needs my service. Well, ours, shall we say." she giggled.

The wind was suddenly on their backs, a very uplifting boost. Qwynh always loved it when she could just hold out her wings and glide. Being a bat, she couldn't soar like birds, she had to flap faster to stay aloft.

[Devon]

Eric nodded and tilted his head back to enjoy the sudden gust of wind. Spreading his wings further he soared in the sky and almost did a loop for fun. "So we're going to Ilyamen. Okay it sounds like this will be fun!"
