Amaro glances around as he and Talon step off the boat that had given them a ride across the river. He's never entirely comfortable in Ronduin and less so since gaining the knowledge his uncle has set up Ekaitz. Idly making sure his sign is hidden, Amaro turns to Talon.
"Where do you want to start? Trying to track down that messenger or asking around at inns on the off chance he stayed at one?"

"Trying to find one person is always time-wasting," Talon mused. "Our best bet is to check the inns. Think we should split up? I gave you a good description, well enough that we could do okay apart if you wanted."

Amaro considers the idea of spliting up and then shakes his head. "I know there isn't much chance this guy will still be here, but I'm not comfortable with the idea of spilting up unless we have to," he replies. "If we feel we're wasting too much time, we can always spilt up later." After a pause, Amaro asks, "Talon... Do you really think this guy is a slaver?"

"No," Talon says quietly. "I think he's a maniac with a grudge against our kind though. Water and Winds. Hell maybe he just has it out for little girls. But if he was a slaver, he wouldn't have locked Acqua up in Zephyr and tortured her. He would have spirited her away to Ekaitz before we could blink."

Amaro nods, frowning. "I agree," he murmurs. "But that letter... It seemed so damn personal... I don't pretend to understand madmen, hell, I can't understand my own damn uncle... But why go to all this trouble to threaten Acqua again? Surely he can pick another victim up off the street..." Amaro shakes his head. "Don't mind me Talon. Knowing Mathew's still alive is making me paranoid."

Nodding, Talon picked out one of the men there that caught his attention. He seemed relaxed, but not drunk. Likely he had the day off or was on break. He slipped into a seat opposite him and began chatting, asking innocuous questions about the area while offering to buy him drinks.

Amaro makes his way over to the innkeeper, ordering a drink for himself as well as paying for a room for himself and Talon. Taking a seat, he drinks in silence for awhile, then begins the usual idle questions that would be expected of a merc in need of another job. Eventually he asks the innkeeper if he's seen his 'cousin' around, rattling off a description of Burak.
"Sorry, no one like that stayed here..." the innkeeper begins, then pauses. "Actually... No one like that stayed here, but a guy like that did come in and have a few drinks."
The man made quick conversation with Talon, really catching onto the mood of the man. It was just happy banter, and he was happy to tell Talon stories about the city and how it has grown since he was little and whatever other little anecdote came to mind. He also wasn't all that adverse to getting a couple free drinks from the man either.

"I was wondering if you'd seen someone," Talon remarked. He decided to use the story in Zephyr. "There was this guy, you see, he was traveling around my home town and I noticed he dropped something. I didn't make much of it but it might have special value to him, you know? Have you seen him?" He gave a description of the man.
The man thought for a drunken moment, meaning that he thought he knew right away but in reality it was quite a lengthy pause. The description did work, he even knew where the name worked as well. Burak was his name, the man helped to rebuild his house after the dragon came and the waves shook it up.
"He doesn't live here, but he hangs around a lot. From here its a small stone house about three down that he usually sits in. I think he is just sharing it with a friend though, which seems fair with how much money he donates to the neighbors."
He gave directions, thinking that Talon might indeed be a well wisher. While Burak wasn't known he also kept himself active enough that it wouldn't be a gigantic surprise. The house wasn't far, a couple blocks down with a nice noticeable arch out front.

Amaro nods just slightly in acknowledgement of Talon, but otherwise gives no sign of having heard him. Finishing up both his conversation with the innkeeper and his drink, Amaro heads outside and waits for Talon.
"What did you find out?" he asks when Talon joins him.

"He's known at least well enough that I was able to get something of a home address," Talon says with pride. "It's not just his, he seems to have been sharing it with a neighbor." He frowns slightly at that; it seemed... odd. But no matter. "Should we check it out?"
