[Northen Light36]

Amaro, tired from his first day of monster hunting, slips into a local tavern for a quick bite to eat and something to wet his throat. After placing his order, Amaro finds a table that'll let him keep his back to the wall, a merc lives and dies by the habits he trains into himself, and waits for his food.

The moody as ever storm doesn't acknowledge anyone else in the tavern, but then, there's no one he knows here. Still, the sheer distance (at least two tables) he's sitting from anyone else makes him stand out from the friendly winds.

Cass walks jauntily into the tavern, smiling and waving to a few patrons, some she knew, some she didn't. She orders a glass of her usual drink and scans the tables, looking for someone to join. The dancer didn't drink alone if she could help it, and she seldom let anyone else do the same. Spying the storm sitting so far away from the rest of the patrons, she makes her decision quite easily.

Not a bad-looking gent, either, she thinks, walking over to Amaro's table. A bit rough around the edges, maybe, but handsome nonetheless.

"This seat taken?" Cass asks brightly.

Amaro looks up, scowling. "I'm not looking for company," he replies. "There's a seat over there though," he adds, pointedly looking towards the other side of the room.

I should have just headed home or to Talon's, he thinks irritably. At least his family would let him eat a meal without harassing him too much.

"I'm sure there is," Cass replies with a grin, taking a seat. "But I think I'll sit here, anyway. I make it a policy to never let a person sit alone if I can help it."

Looks like he's one of those, she thinks in amusement. He could definitely stand some loosening up, I'll bet.

"Name's Cass, by the way. And you are...?"

"Someone who isn't interrested," Amaro replies automaticly, then reconsiders. After all, if this girl had payed any attention to recent events, she'll reconise his last name and that might get rid of her. "Fine, I'm Amaro Melissan. Will you go away now?"

[Darastrix]

Amaro Melissan...where have I heard that name be--oh! Her eyes widened in surprise as she gave the man a good look, recalling the details of a few choice occurances.

"Well, then, in that case I'll have to insist on paying for your meal as well," Cass finally says, smiling. "I've heard a bit about you, Amaro."

"Then maybe you've heard I don't like people?" Amaro asks dryly. "And I can pay for my own meal. I don't take charity."

[Darastrix]

"It's not charity," Cass says, rolling her eyes a bit. "More of a token of appreciation. If you dislike people that much, I'd imagine you'd rather take a meal with me on behalf of my guild than have them celebrate your exploits doing what they do best, now wouldn't you?" she says slyly, arching an eyebrow.

Amaro grits his teeth at the very thought even as his order is bought to his table. "Fine. If I let you pay for my meal will you be quiet and let me enjoy my food in peace?" Amaro asks, scowling. If she doesn't, I swear I'll bend my rules and give Acqua a little encouragement to pick a few pockets.

"I'll consider it," Cass replies pertly, sipping her drink as she watched the man. For her part, it's hard not to be just a little excited about meeting someone who is, essentially, a hero to the kingdom. She's spent the better part of a decade travelling Naruta, listening to and spinning tales about famous events and the people who took part in them, but she's rarely ever met one of those people.

Amaro rolls his eyes and turns his attention to his meal. If I ignore her, she'll go away, he thinks hopefully. He has to admit though, he hasn't met anyone this annoyingly persistant since he'd made the mistake of saving Talon back when he was a boy.

"Don't you have anything better to do then stare at me?" he snaps after awhile.

[Darastrix]

"Well, I would talk, but I thought you wanted me to be quiet," Cass replies, amused. "And before you ask, no, I don't have anything to do far away from you. I'm done with work for the day, and my time is my own to fritter away as I wish."

"Fritter away somewhere else," Amaro grumbles, finishing his meal and starting on his drink. "If I wanted chatter and annoyance, I'd feed my nephew sugar."

[Kender Bard]

"Amaro!" Talon called out, poking his head in and looking around. "Are you here? Heyla, anyone seen a very grumpy Storm around here?"

[Darastrix]

Cass just grins and shrugs, completely unbothered by Amaro's brusqueness. Some of her bards joke at times that she should have been given duck's wings with the way she lets things roll off her back.

"Oh, come now, a little chat over dinner isn't that bad. You might even start liking it in spite of yourself."

Hearing Talon, she turns and grins, waving an arm. "This the one?" she calls lightly.
