Learning the Rules of the Game|Flux

[Kender Bard]

Dreamwarp was back in the dining hall with her boys, looking sleepy. It'd been almost a week since their arrival, and she figured this would be the last day that they would all eat together here. She'd be taking her meals in her rooms again so she could sleep in.

Nibbling at her bacon and eggs, she watched in curiosity at how well the two boys took to having a meal of the same. No more bread and water for them; they were having the same breakfast as everyone else, with an ale to wash it down.

Adam was happily arranging his bacon and eggs to spell out simple words before eating it up. He grins at Dreamwarp when she looks at him before going back to playing with and eating his food.

Drake meanwhile kept on using his fork to stab his food to eat it instead of scooping it up or anything. "Hey brother, you gonna drink your ale or can I have it?"

Adam looks a little confused before answering. "I dunno, let me try it first." He lifts his mug and takes a small drink before grinning. "No, I think I can finish this myself. It's good!" He starts to gulp it down quickly before finishing his breakfast.

Drake grumps and looks at Dreamwarp. "Hey...what about you? You dont need all that ale do you?"

[Kender Bard]

Dreamwarp grinned and pushed the mug over to him. "I'll just get some more later. You have quite the healthy appetite."

Another slave-servant walks up, looking cheerful. He nods respectfully to Dreamwarp. "Morning, Mistress Dreamwarp."

"Good morning Charles," she said in return, recognizing him vaguely as the servant of a much older, but very canny priestess.

Charles gave a slight bow of his head before nimbly snatching up Adam's plate and walking off with it, already working on eating what was left.

Adam blinked and looked over to the departing servant. "Heey..I wasnt finished.." He pouted.

Drake chuckles after taking a big drink of ale. "Your fault for not finishing up fast enough..hey!" Before Drake could even finish his sentance Adam calmly took his plate and began to calmly eat his food. "What? It's your own fault right?"

[Kender Bard]

Dreamwarp laughed delightedly, even applauding Adam a little. "Well done, my sweet. You're catching on quickly!"

She nudged Drake under the table with her foot. "Don't worry, we'll get you something else to eat, unless you'd like to go raid another plate." She had already finished her own food. "I was thinking today we could work some more on your priestly duties. I want you both to pull one prank today, on anyone."

Drake reached over behind Adam and suddenly pushed his face into the plate of almost finished food. "Does that count?"

Adam struggled and managed to get free and took a deep breath. "I think she meant on someone else. And I think that counts more as being a bully."

[Kender Bard]

Dreamwarp smirked. "You can prank each other if you want, but Adam is right, that's not exactly what I meant. If you want to count it though.." She shrugged. "I plan on rewarding the one who has the better prank though."

[tuo]

Drake frowned and thought about it. "Eh, how hard can it be to prank someone?" Adam ate the last bit of bacon he took from Drake and stood up. "Well i'm going to walk around and wait for inspiration to hit me."

[Kender Bard]

"Have fun," Dreamwarp laughed softly, getting up herself. "Drake just ask the cooks for more food. If they give you trouble, invoke my name. I'm going to my quarters."

Humming, she strolled off.

Drake goes to get a second plate of food and starts to eat it while thinking about who he is going to prank and how...

Meanwhile, Adam walked randomly down the corridors, humming a tune he heard recently, most likely tuneless actually. After a short time walking around, he spots a priestess and calls out to her. "Uhh..excuse me miss?" The priestess turns with an amused smile. "Yes, can I help you?"

Adam coughed into his hand to clear his throat. "Mistress Dreamwarp has asked me to play a prank on somebody, I was hoping you might have a suggestion I could use..?"

The priestess smirked and tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Perhaps you can try to play a prank on Dreamwarp herself? I'm sure she wouldnt see that coming."

Adam blinked. "You sure...what if that makes her angry?" The priestess shrugged and shook her head. "I wouldnt know, but if you cant prank anybody then she might be upset with you."

[Kender Bard]

The servant trailing after her mistress smiled shyly at Adam and added, "Who knows what Mistress Dreamwarp does and does not like. At the very least, though, I think she would commend you for surprising her - if you can."

[tuo]

Adam shuffles his feet. "Well...she seems like she'd be hard to surpise..." The priestess peered at Adam for a moment. "You are her obediant pet arent you? I imagine if you were more like your brother you could surpise her. Well, good luck." She grins and walks off, expecting the servant to follow after.

Adam leans against a wall, thinking about what the priestess said. "More like my brother...hmm..of course!" He smiles and hurries back to the kitchen after a couple wrong turns, hoping to find Drake there.


Drake was just about to try and find Adam to just play a prank on him when he spotted Adam walking up to him with a smile on his face. "Eh, what has you so happy?"

Adam walked up and put his arm around Drake's shoulders and started walking in a random direction, pulling Drake along. "Brother, I think I have an idea for a prank." Adam begins to explain in a low voice.


(A few hours later...)

While Dreamwarp was in her room, she hears a quick knocking before it falls silent.

[Kender Bard]

Dreamwarp looks up from the book she was re-reading. "Enter," she called out.

[tuo]

Nobody enters, instead whoever it was knocks again, a bit louder this time.

[Kender Bard]

Frowning, irritated, Dreamwarp drops her book on the floor and goes to her door. "Are you deaf?" She opens the door with a huff.
