"Amaro is trapped in Maelstrom," Alethia explained. "And Mathew has control of the city."

She didn't want to keep asking Echo for favors, though. Modestly, she adds, "I'd like to thank you for your assistance in rescuing me, my husband, Vortai, and the Princess."

"I didn't do anything," Echo replies. "That was all your pigheaded sister's work." She looks at Acqua and shakes her head. "I know what you're going to ask, kitten. No." Acqua winces, but looks pleadingly at Echo.

"Please Echo," she replies. "I'm not asking for anything other then a safe way in and out of the city."

"And to bring a small ton of guards down on our heads," Echo growls quietly. "No." Acqua scowls, a stubborn anger starting to show on her face. Echo hisses at the sight. "Daniel was a fool..." she growls to herself. "You're not going to listen, are you?"

"I'd prefer permission, but when my family's at stake?" Acqua replies. "No." Echo scowls, then sighes.

"You're lucky I like you Kitten," she mutters. "Very well, I'll give permisson." Acqua starts to smile, but stops when Echo gives her a sharp look. "However we are going to discuss your divided loyalties at a later point, Acqua..." Acqua winces, but nods acceptingly.

Alethia looks between the two and frowns. Protectively, she wraps an arm around Acqua's shoulders, and leans over to whisper next to her ear, "You follow your heart, sister. I guess this means I can't come with you?"

"You can come," Acqua whispers back. Echo gives the sisters a sharp look and twitches an ear pointedly, but chooses only to walk away.

~I'd take that as a sign you've worn out your welcome,~ Faith comments, startling Acqua who hadn't even noticed her pet following them.

Alethia looks at Acqua sorrowfully. "I'm sorry if I ruined something special for you." She wrung her hands; this was a delicate topic, she knew, but she only had her sister's happiness foremost in her mind.

Acqua looks over at Echo, then back at Alethia. "Don't worry about it, Alethia," she replies. "You and the rest of the family are what's important." Reaching out to take Alethia's hand, Acqua smiles slightly and adds, "Come on, let's go home and see what plans we can come up with to drag Amaro's rear out of trouble... again."
