Once on their own, Teardrop and Raindrop seem quite excited and Raindrop stops pressing herself up against Vortai. "Have you been here before Vortai?" Teardrop asks. "Where do you think we should go first?"

Vortai knew the streets very well, and walked them with sure foot. Talen'sul was his home for half the year, so he knew every main street and dark alley available. He was kind of worried when Raindrop pulled off a little, but since she still following him he figured it was just because it was easier to walk that way.

"Well, I know Talen'sul like the back of my hand Teardrop. Is there anything in particular you ladies like to do? I have some money tucked away, I can treat you to anything in town."

He was still trying to impress Raindrop, especially now that she has shown the interest. It was funny, but it was like this with Acqua too when he first met her. An attachment to certain people he didn't feel before now, a desire to make them happy. He liked it, as strange as it may be.

The twins' stomaches grumble and both girls blush faintly. "Um, can we get something to eat first?" Teardrop asks.

"Then how about you give us a tour of anything interresting here?" Raindrop adds with a sweet smile. "We've never been here before."

Vortai nods happily, not going to pick on them any for thier hungry stomaches. The poor girls have been tortured enough, they deserve at least a day of luxury. To that end he decides to take them to a part of town more famous for dining then simply bringing them to the market district.

"You ladies choose whatever you like, if you give me a moment to visit my... bank... I will be right back with enough money to give you a day you both deserve all right?"

He smiles and nods to them, making sure they were both happy with this arrangement. He didn't seem any problem with using his rainy day money, he has already paid guild dues and he will be staying with Amaro for a while with steady income there. He does give a quick glance to Raindrop, quickly turning away and blushing under his cowl.

The twins each beam and smile delightedly at Vortai. "You're the best, Vortai," Raindrop tells him with a smile before she and Teardrop run off to look around and decide what they want to eat.

Vortai smiles back and gives her a proud bow of the head before running off to do what he had to do. He took a select series of backstreets to be as indirect as possible to his hiding spot. After making it he uncovered the derelict shack that he hid his small fortune in. He was happy to see that it was still in his lockbox, which he retrieved and ran back to the position of the twins.

I've never felt more happy giving my money away before, this is something... new. Perhaps my decision to settle down will work out after all.

Hope, that is what filled his heart. Maybe there was a way he could be happy outside the buisiness of thievery, pay off his dues every year but not have to be under the law any more. Maybe, just maybe Amaro was offering him a new chance on life to go along with his new age.

The twins greet Vortai warmly then happy dig into the best meal they've had in a long time. Once they're full and content, Raindrop reaches out to take Vortai's hand. "Thanks Vortai," she says. "Are you still up to taking us on a tour of the city?"

Vortai also takes in his fair share along with them and offers the necessary coin in return. This was one of the better meals in his recent history as well, at least nothing in particular to scoff at. When Raindrop touched his hand he had to muffle yet another blush under his cowl.

"Of course, I would be pleased to do so. Let us start with the market place, as that is where I have best control of direction. From there we can look for some sort of entertainment that suits you."

Vortai tries to make it subtle, but he moves his fingers a little to caress the skin on Raindrop's hand when she took it. He couldn't quite explain why he wanted to do that, but he did, and the feeling was good. With that he took the twins off toward the market, a place that he knew very well.

Raindrop blushes faintly at Vortai's caress. "He's sweet," she thinks then blinks in surprise at herself. Where had that come from? Still, the thought of continuing to use Vortai like she has been makes her uncomfortable. Trying not to think about her guilty feelings, Raindrop follows Vortai to the market.

"Look out!"

Laughing gleefully, a young boy - about the age of the three kids - comes barreling into view, chasing a loosed chicken. The chicken squawks and heads towards Vortai. Laughing, the boy rubs one of his ankles against the back of his leg a moment before dashing after in a dizzying burst of speed. Coming behind him much slower was a boy bearing familial resemblance, but sporting a pair of fluffy wings and wearing glasses.

"Look out!" the other boy shouted as the first one headed right for the group.

Seeing the chicken running towards Vortai, Raindrop moves to catch it seconds before the boy speeds up. With the kid's sudden burst of speed, Raindrop finds herself being knocked to the ground before she can get out of the way.

"Oof!" the boy grunts, falling over with Raindrop. The chicken give another squawk as it was squished between the two.

"Oh man," the second boy sighed, jogging over. "Streak! Look what you did!"

The first boy, Streak, jumped up hastily, plucking the chicken and shoving him into his companion's hands before offering a hand to Raindrop. "I'm sorry! Are you okay?"

Vortai sees all that occurs, and was almost embarrassed when his reflexes didn't just get him out of the way, or stop the boy or something. When the two people fall over one another, the thief hastens himself over to Raindrops side. Seeing the boy offer a hand after getting up does activate his senses however. With a swift motion he nudges the newcomer slightly and offers his own hand to assist her in standing.

"These streets are used a lot you two, I understand chasing your possessions, but you have to know from living here that it probably won't get out of reach if you take the time to be careful."

He learned that from his thievery as well. Something may want to leave this city, but he has never had a time where he didn't get one last chance at a mark before he left. The mountains had a way of making it so everything you do is slow... almost like natures way of keeping the wind people to sit still for a little while.

Raindrop gets to her feet and glances over the two boys. "Vortai, don't lecture," she scolds then smiles at Streak. "It's okay. I'm Raindrop, by the way." Bending down, Raindrop picks up the chicken. "I think this is yours, speedy?" she adds with a giggle, looking over Streak and blushing.

[Kender Bard]

"Heh heh," Streak chuckles taking the chicken. "Thanks. Raindrop - that's a pretty name. I'm Streak, and-"

"And a klutz," his companion complained, buffeting him lightly with a wing. He looks at the nearest person - in this case Teardrop - and rolls his eyes saying to her, "Siblings."

"This is Winger," Streak finished, irritated. "I am not a klutz, I just wasn't looking up."
