Beginning of the end|Beastlands

A Humontis senator was beating a familiar path across the beastlands. Dionysios was what he was known as, Dio was all he was called. In order to get such clearance he walked with a bodyguard and sympathizer, Terezia from Beleg.

"Terezia, you have known me for how long now?"

"Three years sir, you have never looked better."

"That is because now I will start to act on all of our schemes. Naruta is at it's weakest point in history. There has never been a greater time for the ambitious to catch hold."

"Of course Dio, but how will we do what we need?"

He walks up to a secluded hut at the very edge. He will not be missed at senate gatherings with Narcissa in charge. Now he needs to gather news reports, letters, anything that gives him clues to finding the people he is looking for. He needs the down and outs, the scum of the universe. He needed a group of people that hate society so much, and are so good at destroying it, that united they will be invincible.

An androgenus looking man with long hair and green eyes watches the pair from a distance and begins to move closer. If not for that he seems to wish greatly to not be seen or heard, it would seem like a coincidence that he is approaching one side of the hut. In true, he intends to listen through that wall to learn the mannerisms of each man in order to see if he could turn them against one another. The man smiles faintly, eager to continue to play his game.

Dio turns to her and rubs her cheek, obviously showing that thier relationship goes far beyond a simple escourt. He smiles as he walks past her, ready to get started and soon. He wants and army of the best, and it has to start now, before people start noticing it.

"I cannot leave here until our plan is set in motion Terezia. I need you to go to cities around Naruta, and keep your ear to the ground about everyone from murderors to petty thieves. People who hate society enough to not kill each other for the goal of pulling it down."

"Of course Dio, I will do this for you, people like you are speaking of will band and work together, if only for long enough to prove they can."

"That is all the time we need my butterfly. After that they can go back to whatever they want to, with the town guard always looking in the other direction."

They had no idea of the looming presence, nor would they care if they had one. This hut was seculded, hardly anyone but roaming beasts would ever even care that it existed.

The man licks his lips as he listens and shifts slightly into a more comfortable position to wait out until one left. However, an unnoticed dry twig snaps beneath his leg and he freezes completely to listen and watch for any sign he'd been detacted. He doubts he could outrun or outfight them, so he's hoping to either be let speak or to be ignored.

Even with both affinities Dio couldn't feel the crack, but the senses of Terezia did catch on to it. She touched Dio as she walked past him asking him to follow silently. The both of them go to where the twig was. Dio spoke first.

"Who goes there, what do you want?"

He really didn't want conflict today. If it was just a beast he will have Terezia say that he is allowed to be here and they should move on.

Internally, the man swears before standing and pushing back his hair to look as composed and calm as possible. In a light alto he speaks, "I am the Variable Wind and I seek soil in which to plant the seeds of discord. That is the truth which through catching me as my own self you have earned."

Dio scratches his face. Seeds of discord? Jackpot, with these people coming to him there must be some favor in his idea. Plus he can test at how well his idea sticks.

"Discord you say? You seem to be what I need then. I am forming a legion, a group of people that want to strangle society by the maw. The best at the best at what they do. How about it Variable Wind? Will you join me? Will you help me bring Doom to those that have kept us down for so long."

Even killers and madmen can be reasoned with. All you have to do is offer them something in thier language.

The man who calls himself Variable Wind smiles at the offer. "That sounds very appealing... Well, then, you have yourself a deal. Though since it is customary to give one's name when entering an agreement, I was born with the name Critias and I answer to either that or my nickname. And you are?"

[adris]

Dio stands to the side so both he and his friend could be seen. He first introduces her with a soft point of his hand.

"This lovely lady here is Terezia and I am Dionysios, but most people find it easier to call me Dio. With you adding to our numbers I have an important task for you. I need you to find others, to build our ranks. This is our headquarters, you know the people we are looking for. We can do this, but our execution has to be flawless."

He needs to start a roster now, something he would do after he answered all questions. It was obvious that Dio was all buisiness about this idea, not even waiting to build up trust with the man. Trust? You don't trust a killer or a thief, you take precautions and tolerate them. It makes the job of forming this team much easier.

Smiling now, Critias makes a mental note of the names and appearance of his two new comrades. "Of course, Dionysios. There is nothing to worry about; it is part of my art to memorise the names, faces and manners of others so I recall there being those who would fit and I do not accept flaws."

After a few seconds, he adds, "Diatos and Oritios will be thrilled at the opportunity, though I don't recall a single instance where they listened to anyone other than me." The man shrugs slightly. "If you don't mind that I'll probably need to repeat any orders you wish to give them, Diatos who is a Mind and Oritios who is a Fire will become our allies without any of us needed to go farther than a few minutes travel. Also, those two would contribute more eyes to the search."

Dio turns and looks over his back at Critias, smiling the smile he had when he introduced his idea to the man. The two Critias descriped sounded like just his sort of scum.

"Then add them to our numbers, a friend of yours is probably exactally the kind of warrior we are looking for anyway. Choose a town and start looking my friend, I hear Ilyamen has had quite a lot of activity."

He walks with Terezia back into the hut. He needs to gather all he can, the more he can add, no matter how small the man comparatively, adds more to his chance of success.

The man gives a quick nod and walks south-west of the hut back toward where an odd pair were waiting. One of the two, a strong-looking Fire male whose features seem set in a perminant glare doesn't even look up; however, a willowy looking Mind female stands and gives Critias a hug in greeting.

"Find anything interesting?" she asks.

"Diatos and Oritos, how does a trip to Ilyamen to find those who agree with Dio and I sound?" Critias replies, neither pushing the Mind away or embracing her.

"Ilyamen? You know if you want to go somewhere or do something, all you need to do is mention it, Variable Wind," she answers, using his nickname fondly. "Here, teleporting would be the fastest."

"Yes it would be."

Oritios remains silent but he smiles in a cruel way before walking over and putting one hand on her shoulder. Diatos gives the Wind a light squeeze before letting go so she's just holding his hand and teleports the trio away.

After spending quite a while together in the huts seclusion Terezia and Dio finally emerge. He strokes her cheek and wishes her goodbye as she moves in the direction of the water city. Finally the cogs are in motion, he only hopes those of the blackest souls have the power to do what he needs done.

Following Terezia, Demarlos arrives at the outside of the hut Dio is supposed to be in and steps forward to knock on the door after adjusting his glasses. At least in his mind, being what some would call cruel is no excuse for not treating one's allies with civility and respect.

Dio has been able to use weather conditions as an excuse for not going to work, and thus has spent most days in his retreat. It was a happy vacation, one that helped him ease his mind and focus on important things.

"Who is there?" He called out when he heard the knock, only to smile when he had heard that Terezia had returned from the hunt. He went to the door and opened it, his glee not subsiding when he saw that it was a possible recruit with her.

"Welcome good sir, and how might I adress you?"
