Damien scowls at the force of the winds, using his weight to help from being blown over and keeping to walls for support as much as is possible. Ann huddles in her uncle's arms, both for warmth and for safety. At last Damien arrives at the mansion and demands enterance.

He's ushered in swiftly, subtly moved near a fire in the waiting area. In what seems only heartbeats later, Lya is hastening to them. "Damien! This is unexpected. I'm pleased to see you're unhurt and well enough, though." She spares a smile for Ann as well.

Ann smiles back quietly as Damien sets her down gently, visiblely two or three years older then she was the last time she and Lya met. Damien nods a greeting to Lya as Shadow comes hurrying up. "We were caught by that forces damned wind on our way home," Damien explains. "Any idea what's going on with the weather lately? Talen'sul's plagued by lightning and Maelstorm's got these winds... I was beginning to wonder if you two were annoyed at each other." Shadow chuckles weakly at the joke.
"I only wish it was that simple," he tells his old friend. "Come on, we should go somewhere more comfortable to tall rather then standing around here.

Lya looks at Ann in some wonderment, but after reading a couple reports... She had an inkling as to what happened. "Did you grow up suddenly, Ann dear?" she asked the girl, extending a hand to her to escort her.

Lya sighs heavily and nods. "A little. We found that some priests had gone to Dark Cloud to release Evil." She didn't blunt her words for Damien, since she didn't think he'd appreciate beating around the bush. "That priest is currently rotting in jail while Thelon goes around to collect priests and bring them here, in hopes of finding a solution."

Lya raised her brow and glanced at Damien. "You never told her?" she asks, incredulous. "Nobody has? I thought everyone knew that legend. The Forces know the priests cornered me as a child to school me on it."

Damien scowls at Lya. "Forgive me if I've been just a touch too busy with events over the years to sit down and find out what legends my sister and brother were able to teach their daughter before they were murdered!" he snaps. Ann frowns at the two adults.
"Don't fight!" she orders and Shadow nods his agreement.
"Damien, control your temper," he orders. "Lya, Narurod hasn't had as peaceful a time over the years Damien's been raising his niece as Talen'sul had when you were a child. Now stop it, both of you. You're upseting Ann."

Lya clamped down on her argument - that SHE hadn't been the one to start bickering and didn't deserve the reprimand - and instead crossed her arms and focused on not letting her wings reveal her agitation. "Then I suggest you tell her now."

"Perhaps," Lya remarks dubiously. "But the rendition I heard said that they never wished to leave their mortal homes." She looked to the floor, frowning in thought. "What would people be like if we lost the capacity for both, as well?"

Damien frowns. "It's something to keep in mind though if all else fails," he says, more for Ann's sake then any real belief the child's idea would work. "But first we should try and undo what those priests did... Although that's far easier said then done since we don't even know HOW they freed Evil..." Shadow and Damien trade frustated looks, neither man enjoys being helpless and both are feeling that way at the moment.

Lya spread her hands, equally helpless. "That is what Thelon is gathering priests for. Really, our hands are tied at the moment. All we can do is sit tight and ride out the storm until they get here. Will you be staying for that event, Lord Damien?"
