[Northen Light36]

Saph looks at Laura in concern, then moves over to Flash and murmurs, "Get some rest big brother... You're tired." There's something odd about how Saph phrased that, a strange certainity in his tone. Almost instantly the hurt in Flash's expression lightens a little and he nods silently, turning and walking out of the room.

"What is it, Laura?" Saph asks, sinking heavily into a chair and rubbing at his sign more with a discomforted look.

[Kender Bard]

Laura reaches out to take his wrists - not grabbing, but gentle-like. "There's something odd going on between you and Flash. It is like you're mirroring one another now. Saph... I know your pain, but yours is far, far worse than mine. I won't ask why... I'm sure you could give me a thousand reasons and I the same. But I'm worried about you. Oh Saph..." Her calm exterior slips a moment, and she lets her distress through. "I lost my son, please don't make me lose my husband."

Saph blinks at Laura, looking confused. "Something odd between Flash and me?" he repeats. "I haven't noticed anything..." He moves to hug Laura, trying to calm her. "I'm not going anywhere dear... Except maybe to check on Flash... He's upset." There's that odd note of certainty in Saph's tone again.

[Kender Bard]

Laura leans into Saph's embrace. "There is, Saph. I don't know what it is, exactly. It does have something to do with the two of you. How is it that you know for sure that he's upset when he's no longer in the room with you?"

Saph blinks a few times and a look of confusion crosses his face as he looks at his wife. "I... I don't know..." he replies slowly. "I just do..." Frowning slightly he murmurs to himself, "Maybe it has something to do with what happened at Narurod..."

[Kender Bard]

"What do you mean?" Laura presses. "Is there something you didn't tell me?"

[Northen Light36]

"Well, we had to put our signs together a couple of times, we got seperated once," Saph begins. "And after we'd won against the pair we were fighting, we both passed out. What's odd is Flash was putting in more power then I was, I'm not surprised he was exhusted, but I can't think why I was so drained. I was just boosting Flash, not really doing any fighting myself..."

[Kender Bard]

Laura blinks and eyes her husband suspiciously. "I ... I have an idea forming I think. But I need to know something. How often have you two put your signs together?"

[Northen Light36]

Now it's Saph's turn to blink then he frowns slightly, murmuring to himself as he strains his memory to recall all the times he and Flash brought their signs together. "I'm not sure... At least eight or nine times I think. Why?"

[Kender Bard]

She contemplates any and everything she'd learned of Joining. "Do you suppose... Well, I think I'm in over my head." She shakes her head. "I think all that Joining did something. But I don't know what. Perhaps you should go with Flash to Sensatia, where they deal in these sorts of things."

[Northen Light36]

Saph considers that then nods slowly. "Maybe you're right," he agrees. "I'll talk to Flash and see what he thinks... Will you all right if I do go, though?" Saph looks worriedly at Laura and adds, "If you'd rather I stayed, I will."

[Kender Bard]

"I'll be fine," she said quietly, offering him a brave smile. "I'll keep myself busy so I won't think. I just want you to be well and okay."

[Northen Light36]

"As brave and loving as the day I met you," Saph murmurs, smiling fondly at his wife. "Very well, I'll go talk to Flash and we'll make plans for this to be as short a trip as we can manage." Saph holds Laura a moment longer and strokes her cheek before giving her a loving kiss before leaving to find Flash.
