Lior crosses his arms and spends a few moments in thought before speaking.

"I would not recommend putting the same people who were in power before in charge of Reave, however their experience in how to maintain order and carrying out diplomacy would enable them to act as advisers when called upon or perhaps they could give lessons on governing. A new goverment could form in time so what is practical can take precidence over what is ideal, as much as that pains me to admit. If there is a certain item which can be found here that is considered valuable elsewhere, it would be worth the effort to gather the item for sale. There must be something in the area where Reave is being developed which is unusual or valuable... In the mean time, continuing to hunt and gather would be wiser than switching rapidly to commerce. Being able to feed yourselves is an important first step toward self-sufficency, don't you agree?"

Jhaal nods, mulling over Lior's advice.
"Yes, you're quite right. We need to satisfy our own needs by our own means to begin with. I suppose, being a merchant... I'm just worried about our long term future."

Tapping his lower lip with a fingertip gently, the Clear absently gazes out over the village, trying to catch a glimpse of Helen or anyone else who might be willing to join them.

"In any case, I think I should get back to Reave as soon as possible. It seems like we've got all the help we're going to get."

"You aren't the only one worried about the long term future of Reave... However in order to have a long term future, a short term future must be secured," Lior replies. "Feel free to return to Reave anytime you want... After finishing the errand I need to run for Tres, I'm going to be returning to Naurorod so you don't need to wait for me."

"With any luck, that will go better than seeking aid."

[jhaal]

"Wouldn't it be seen as a little rude to leave without waiting for the group that agreed to help us?" Jhaal responds, looking a little puzzled. "If you're supposed to be elsewhere I can wait for them by myself. Don't feel pressed into inconvenience on my behalf."

At around that moment, Helen shows up with her volunteers in tow. A couple of them have even brought some smiling, eager looking elementals with them.

"That didn't take as long as I thought," Helen announces with a pleased smile. "Hope you don't mind. Some of the folks here wanted to bring their spouses."

Genuinely delighted, Jhaal offers the group a neat bow and a friendly smile.

"Of course, not at all. We're most grateful for the participation of every one of you, and I'd like to thank you personally for offering your time for us," he says simply, before going on to introduce himself.

"I'm Jhaal, representative of the Clears of Reave. If there's anything I can do for you, please let me know."

Smiling, the Clear turns to Lior, offering him the opportunity to introduce himself.

Feeling both relieved and pleased, Lior smiles and offers a slight bow to the volunteers.

"You all have my gratitude as well for being so willing to help." Though wondering just how much of a surprise it would come as, he also introduces himself, "My name is Lior of the Fire types, leader of Clan Pyre and ally of the Clears. Please don't hesitate to ask anything of me that you wish."

[Kender Bard]

The Clears and Elementals give their greetings back, murmuring a bit the general niceties.

Helen smiles at the men and says, "Lead on!"
