His eyes starting to shut again, Calim murmurs deliriously, "You look beautiful in that white dress, my dear.. so happy.."

[iamtuo]

Lessa smiles through her tears. "Please..just hang on..and then we can get married once you get better.." She moves closer to hug him closely.

[Kender Bard]

Calim lies rather limply in the hug, his strength gone.

((Do you want Tom to have found a healer or come back empty handed?))

[iamtuo]

((With a healer if thats all right. I'm sure Tom and Lessa will need some attention soon in that respect anyways.))


Lessa seems to realize he wont have much time left, and suppressing a fresh flood of tears, she crawls into the bed with him, wrapping his arms around her, resting her head against his chest to hear his heartbeat. "Rest my heart..my husband..."

[Kender Bard]

Calim takes a deep breath - one that rattles in his chest - but a look of peace comes over him as he exhales.. and his heart beats no more.

And in that moment, a healer comes rushing to the house, panting, carrying her bag of herbal remedies.

Lessa buries her face in Calims chest, letting out the flood of tears again, clinging to him tightly.


Tom rushes in behind the healer, also panting.

[Kender Bard]

The healer tries to move Lessa aside, speaking calmly but impatiently, "Child, I can't help him with you laying all over him like that! It's bad for your health too!"

Lessa continues to cling to Calim, but soon Tom steps up and lays a hand on her shoulder. Very soon, Lessa manages to tear herself away from Calim and clings to Tom as though her life depended on it.

[Kender Bard]

The healer bent over Calim, checking his vitals, but she quickly pulled away, shaking her head. "I'm sorry, but he's gone. Would you like me to take his body? It IS recommended that plague victims be burnt."

[iamtuo]

Lessa spins around to face the healer, anger on her face. "No! You will not take him!" She looks at Calim's still face, trembling. "..I...I'll take care of burning his body...I..I just need some more time.."

[Kender Bard]

The healer nods, clasps her hand, and bows as she leaves, murmuring her condolensces. She'd have done more but there was just so much to do and she didn't have time to comfort the mourners.
