Fern grinned as they rolled past the gates to Ilyamen. Once again, excitement bubbled up inside of her. "Say, Sierra. Even though most of this money is going to go towards funding a new clan, would you object if we spent a little on ourselves?" Her eye began to dart from shopfront to shopfront as she said this. Normally the Fire type wasn't taken with material things, but deep down, she did appreciate a little spending for the thrill of it.

"I guess it can't hurt and I was thinking of picking up something that would make me look more like a leader than this," Sierra says with a gesture toward the worn condition of his clothing. "You should be fine, Fern. I look like something a cat dragged in and you look like a normal Fire type. Hopefully you'll find what you're after pretty quickly, in any case."

Fern pouted but kept her thought - that she wanted to try looking like one of these city folk - to herself. "Then let's go to a clothing store." Looking around, she guided their cart towards a shop that looked like it held some very nice things; expensive as well. "Will this do?"

Sierra's eyes go wide at the niceness of the clothing. "You're joking, right? This is the fanciest stuff I have ever seen," he replies to Fern. Not yet noticing the prices yet, Sierra turns to Fern with a grin, "Come on, let's get something for you, too. Feel free to smack me if I grab anything too outlandish."

Though trying to save and earn a fair amount of money, Sierra had never been wealthy enough to shop somewhere that expensive before. He notices after getting out of the wagon and walking in that some of the patrons are looking at him oddly. Before disappearing into the many shelves, he grins and waves at the people who were staring. Attention is one of the things that is almost always welcome to Sierra, except for when he was engaged in his "other profession" which he hadn't managed to coax himself into divulging to Fern. Mostly because Sierra doubts she'd take well to learning that Sierra'd gotten most of his food and other easily carried items through stealing.

He picks up a set of clothes that looked like they'd match well enough and begins searching the store for Fern. This is complicated by how silly he feels about asking for fashion advice.

Fern meanwhile had mosied over to some of the fancier dresses. She didn't look like some heathen barbarian but she was acutely aware that anyone who was a fashion freak in the town would probably be horrified by her simple deerskin scout and clan clothing. Her eye straying to a fancy dress with what appeared to be some exotic fur trimming, she ran her fingers along the material, then sighed in displeasure - the fur was fake, merely cleverly made from soft wool. Shaking her head, she dove deeper into the sea of silk, cloth, and cotton and managed to find a bright orange and red dress, bedecked with silken scarves. Grinning, she selected it and glanced around until she spotted Sierra, then went to go see how he was doing. "Find anything nice?"

Sierra nods then says in a slightly embarrassed tone, "Yes, but I want to know what you think..."

He shows her a gold-colored silk vest and a pair of soft cotton off-white pants. There were intricate patterns embroidered into the vest in orange thread and he'd also picked up a bright red silk scarf. His expression is similar to that of a small child getting to chose their clothes for the first time and wanting to know if they'd picked something that looked decent.

Fern grins and tests the material, satisfied at its quality. "I think you'll look as rich as you are, clan leader," she teases. "Very bright and vibrant!" Holding her dress out, she inquires, "What do you think?"

"That'll look gorgeous on you," Sierra replies, returning to grinning broadly. He runs one hand over the material before adding, "I bet something that soft will be comfortable. Are you ready to pay or do you want to look around some more?"

"Hm... What to do next... After we pay, it'd be nice to go somewhere to change clothes and go walking around a bit. Neither of us did much sightseeing last time. I'll suggest that to Fern after she's done shopping."

Fern nods and drapes the dress carefully over her arm, starting to head towards the cashier. Pausing though, almost on impulse, she reaches over and snatches up a black, warm jacket and adds that to her dress. "It'll be chilly," she says with a grin. "No point in looking good and freezing myself to death in the process."

"Makes sense," Sierra replies. "I think I'll be fine though. It's not that cold outside."

He follows Fern over to the cashier, suddenly grateful for the fact he'd stuffed all the silver coins that would fit into his money pouch rather than take more copper ones from the boxes. Trying not to make it look even more like the first time he'd bought anything expensive than it already did, he pays and waits for Fern to finish or mention wanting to go somewhere.

Once her things have been paid for, Fern clutches to them as if they were precious treasures; well, they were. "Do you know where we could change and, well..." she blushes and grins. "Show off?"

"We could pay early for our rooms and change in there before going wandering through where ever looks popular. A little showing off and sightseeing sounds fun," Sierra says, eager to change into his new clothes. "Let's see... I thought I saw one on the way here."

Grinning broadly and carrying his new clothes like they'd fall apart if handled too roughly, he exits the shop and climbs back into the wagon.

"Let's go?"

"Gah! I'm acting like a small child and it's almost surprising that Fern isn't rolling on the ground laughing."

Fern smiles and nods, eyes sparkling, as she carefully hands him her clothing as well to hang onto as she picks up the reigns and navigates the cities to an inn - the inn they stayed in last time in fact! "Might as well stay where we know the bed's are soft and warm, hmm?" Before hopping out of the wagon, she reached back and snagged a handful of copper coins, hastily shoving them into a pocket. Taking her clothes back, she heads inside and pays for their rooms.

"Haven't I seen you around here before?" the innkeeper asked suspiciously. "You raised quite a ruckus with the Fire types, right?"

Fern just fluttered her eyes and shrugged, hurrying off to her room to change. The innkeeper grunted and shifted his gaze questioning to Sierra when he noticed him.

"Might just have been someone who looks like me. Everyone's supposed to have someone who could pass as their twin somewhere out there," Sierra says with a shrug before scurrying upstairs.

After ducking into his room, he changes clothes quickly and stuffs his odd ones under the bed for a moment. Sierra stands in the hall wearing his new clothes and waits for Fern.

Fern steps out of her room, changed, and absently toying with her hair but pauses and stares openly at Sierra for a few moments before grinning widely. "You look marvelous, Sierra!"
