"Diana didn't tell me she was expecting a friend," Alenna said with an amused quirk of her mouth, a near smile. It was obvious she wasn't mad with her daughter, and merely amused to finally be able to tease Diana about something normal girls did all the time. Diana blushed and ducked her head slightly at an imaginary cuff.
"Sorry mother," she said with a sheepish grin. "We were just talking out in the street and got wrapped up in the conversation, so I invited her here to continue with it." A part of her was quite pleased with Alenna's approval of her friend, but another part - the young teenager part probably - wished her mother wouldn't hover about like that. It was embarassing!
"Oh?" Alenna said with her grin growing. "And what are you talking about? Boys?" Diana couldn't help but groan softly at that, and Alenna laughed in delight. "I'm sorry dear, I couldn't help it. But what are you really talking about?"
"Adventures," she said without hesitation, and Alenna's eyes seem to twinkle with amusement as she walked over to the bench and sat down next to Diana, much to her daughter's chagrin.
"How exciting!" she enthused. "I do so miss being out there in the world, exploring. To what location were you thinking about for your adventure?" She didn't think the girls were planning to get up and dash out the door this minute, but she had no qualms about encouraging their dreams.
((Heh! I'm changing her name. I called her Alethia out of habit. I already have a char named Alethia here. *giggle*))
