That was a damn big dragon.

Alexi ducked behind a boulder to catch his breath and gather his courage. How did one approach a dragon without getting their head bitten off, anyway?

Best to just plunge in headfirst like he usually did.

Alexi took another breath, and stepped around the boulder. "Hey," he said casually to the magnificent beast.

Thunderstrike tilted his head at the source, eyed him speculatively, and lowered his head down to Alexi's level. "Greetings," he rumbled deeply. "What is it that you want?"

Alexi found himself bowing to the mighty beast. "I'm Alexian Black the Firestorm. I completed a task in Reave, as was asked of the Fires, and to keep my ass covered, I'd like to know what you charged of the Storms."

[Kender Bard]

Thunderstrike made a low sound that could pass for anything - in this case, amusement. "If you are not a citizen of Maelstrom, then you have no need to partake of the task set forth to the Storms. It would seem you've claimed your living status in Naururod, hmm?"

"No," Alexi denied, for once relieved he didn't seem important enough to warrant any attention or instruction. "I was raised outside Naururod; my father never made any allusions to belonging to any of the clans. I don't really live anywhere now."

[Kender Bard]

"Then you hold no ties to either land, or its obligations," Thunderstrike explained. "Though your help is appreciated, you are a bit late. The Storms are nearly complete with their jobs." After a pause, he adds, "But thank you for asking."

"Heh, no problem. Don't mention it."

This was awkward. Better retreat. "I guess I should find my companion now and find out where she put my horse." Alexi bowed again. "Thanks for your time, big guy."

"Farewell," the dragon rumbled with no little amusement at Alexi's discomfort.
