Audra thinks for a second then shrugs, "This better be dangerous like you said. If you promise it'll be interesting, I'll do it for free and just pick up what I can get along the way."

The girl blinks at Audra, suspicious and surprised, then shakes her head. "I can't say here," she whispers, eyes darting around. "It's too... public."

"Then do you have some where else in mind?" Audra asks, reminding himself not to talk to the girl the way he talked to adults. She didn't seem to like it.

[Kender Bard]

The girl shrugs and shakes her head, point back to Maelstrom and saying, "Just not there."

(Both the girl and the mercenary have the same name? That'll make things complicated.)

"Nyala and I are on our way out of Maelstrom actually. Once we cross the border, I'll tell you and you have to explain then, ok?" Audra replies, trying his best to be civil.

[Toyoll]

((aren't we heading to Lacuna? Out of Maelstrom?))

Nyala snorted, "Please. It can't be that big a deal, it can't be if your 'revenge' is stealing a pocket full of trash."she shrugged, "It's insulting, really, how you underestimate us. I can handle a whole scouting unit by my self, I'm sure the mercenary can do the same, so don't worry your little head off."

The she-wolf took a few strides ahead of them, then turned back. "Well? I don't want to stick around here, I want to get back to flat ground! We can go a little longer can't we?"

(Audra's just following Nyala for now and I thought the way I wrote that suggested that once they are outside of Maelstrom he'll get her to explain. Sorry if it confused you.)

"Come on," Audra says and starts to walk away, figuring the child would follow if she wanted to without more prompting.

The girl, Damaris, sighs a little softly to herself and follows behind obediently.

"Come on, Nyala. You're the one who's supposed to be leading," Audra says to the she-wolf.
