The monk, Caroke, led the way to Khelek. For the most part, their journey had been rather uneventful. Folks did not want to travel abroad so soon after the war, and there wasn't in the way of monsters to impede them.
"I can feel the wind getting colder," Caroke commented to the people traveling with him. "It probably won't take much longer." Indeed, they were just about to where the snow and ice began, marking the boundaries of the Crystalands.
But Caroke stopped, frowning. Was it just him, or did one of those lumps of snow... move? "Did anyone just see anything?"

"Yes." Tatsu said nervously, having seen something out of the corner of her eye as well. She gathered her coat around her against the cold wind and pursed her lips as an icy breeze whipped her hair around wildly. Her boots crunched on a thin layer of snow as they continued to approach the border. So far their journey had been uneventful...until now.

"I'm not sure," muttered Caroke, starting to get a shiver up his spine that had nothing to do with the cold climate they were in. "But I don't like the feeling I'm getting."
Then, out of the snow, slithering from a large hole that burrowed deep into the ground, came a terrible creature! The long, blue-white creature has huge mandibles and a strange nodule atop its head from which it generates a trilling sound once it spots the group. The creature looks to be some sort of serpent or worm, and very hungry.
Tatsu took a step back in surprise, the sight frightening her slightly. She was about to try and see how far the creature was to their little group to judge whether or not they had a chance of escape when she realised she had a Sign of her own. Her hand snapped up to her forhead to touch her sign, when she hesitated. How was she supposed to use her power against something? She had never tried it before, and the results could be disastrous all because she wasn't trained on how to use her powers properly.
"Well atleast this will warm me up.." Devon rubs his hands together then removes his gloves tapping his Storm and Wind symbols together Devon unleashes a small spiral of wind and lightning mixed as one towards the worm-like creature.
This is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friend. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue singing it forever just because. *repeat for eternity*
Tatsu watches Devon as if in a trance, observing the way he used his powers and directed the seemingly casual flow towards the beast. She was confused at how uncomplicated it looked. Perhaps she was thinking too much, and she should let it flow. The one thing that bothered her would be that she would not be bale to control it, having not used the power before.
With an airy hand, Tatsu brushes her sign determinately, thankful for Leocadia’s advice. And she did just that. She ignored any thought process and let it come, trying to overcome her fear of accidentally targeting something else. As her fingers fell in front of her she sent a tiny blast of wind that scuffled a bank of snow next to the beast. Although it hadn’t done much, Tatsu was still satisfied with her effort and chuckled nervously.

The worm started to trill from the nodule on its head, a horrible sound that seem to make those affected by it want to stand motionless and just stare - the effect was a noisy hypnotism in essence. However, with the lightning bolt having struck the area the sound was coming from, the worm cuts it off abruptly. Seeing itself penned in by rings of electricity, it let out a mighty, coned burst of freezing wind, flecked with small but deadly icicles and snow.
